West Telesto on second option with Petronas Carigali

MALAYISA: Seadrill jackup West Telesto is on the fourth well of a two wells plus three one-well options charter with Petronas Carigali, which is expected to keep the unit busy until early 2018 at least.
The current well is the second exercised option. The third option well remains outstanding. The operator had chartered West Telesto for two firm wells plus three option wells. The first option has been exercised and the unit is currently drilling that well.

PVD VI to start with IPC Malaysia in December

VIETNAM/MALAYSIA: Jackup PVD VI is scheduled to depart its current location on Block 12W off south Vietnam for Malaysia on 2 December.
The three to four days' voyage will likely take the rig to IPC's (ex-Lundin) Block PM 307 offshore Peninsular Malaysia, where the Bertam field is located. IPC will use the unit to drill two wells lasting between 60 and 90 days, including mobilisation and demobilisation time. The IPC scope will keep the rig occupied until around February 2018. PVD VI will then return to Vietnam to undertake work with Rosneft, commencing in second quarter 2018. PVD VI is then available.

Perisai narrows losses in latest quarter

MALAYSIA: Perisai Petroleum Teknologi reports a net loss of MYR 42 million (USD 10 million) for the quarter ending 30 September 2017, an improvement from the MYR 293 million (USD 72 million) net loss for the same period one year ago due to the higher provision for impairment loss then.
Its lone drilling unit, jackup Perisai Pacific 101, recorded increased revenue of MYR 4.89 million (USD 1.2 million) to MYR 29 million (USD 7 million) as the rig earned full rate for the quarter - and not the standby rate it was charged for the same period last year after it finished the farm-out contract to Hess. Perisai's total revenue was MYR 38.9 million (USD 8.5 million).

Hi all,

I got a called from headhunter. Ask if I'm interested working for Junior Commissioning Engineer.

I'll be mobilized on the Ghorashal Gas Fired Power Plant project in Bangladesh.

Anyone working on this project currently ? Mind to share the working environment in Bangladesh ?

I like Petronas statement, "The report, which was made public for the first time to instil reality into the industry, outlined the requirements from the companies servicing Petronas for the next two years until 2020[B]".

...and one state wants 20% royalty, own petrol company, own-people working in its oil&gas state, blaa..blaa...blaa...

Brilliant, strategic move by Petronas to tell all oil&gas players and wannabe players about the true state of oil&gas affairs in Malaysia.

Very transparent of Petronas. thumbsup.gif

Hope more GLCs company dare to tell-all to Malaysian public of their business.

"There are about 4,000 O&G companies that are registered with Petronas. Norway, which has similar-sized O&G deposits as Malaysia, has just around 700 players in this sector."

Norway is doing good in promoting renewable i.e. ready for the future, while our country still far behind.
