So rumour of aramco exiting PENGERANG is true? But instead of exit they will still be present, just selling down their stake?

Ideally how much stake they want to retain?

I can’t imagine who in their right mind will want to step in to buy the stake at this time when PENGERANG delayed startup for too long and Sabah and Sarawak also wants to build their own pchem hubs which may become competition

Rumor. Not yet confirm. No official statement yet.

Let’s leave Aramco to carry out the due diligence work if they actually want to exit Pengerang.

TUV Nord is bidding for manpower contract, if not mistaken probably for Vestigo or PCSB-PMA, I suspect maybe for Dulang project? Not sure.

with high paygrade by PCG compared to non-oil and gas companies, can be profitable?

Btw, are you aware which project Toyo has right now in Malaysia?

From what I know :

PPTSB - BCHI
PGB - AGO
PCOSB - COCONUT

QUOTE(mohdyakup @ Jan 24 2021, 09:22 AM)
Toyo currently has an ongoing upgrading EPCC project at Petronas Penapisan (Terengganu) Sdn Bhd, at Kerteh. Its a sizeable & valuable sum of EPCC contract awarded by PPTSB.

Cant remember what is the scope of the EPCC, reformer or hydrotreater upgrading something like that, I might be wrong.

High possibility that a portion of work will need to be shared with Sarawak fabricators.

Anglo-Dutch supermajor #Shell is looking to line up more exploration drilling targets offshore Malaysia, a country that remains one of the company’s nine core upstream areas.

Shell has kicked off a survey of potential prospects including Kecupu, Melinja, Keremak and Memali offshore #Sarawak, East Malaysia.

The Malaysia-flagged vessel Salvin Explorer has been contracted to survey these exploration prospects and more possible drilling locations in a campaign that is scheduled to run until about the end of March.

The Salvin Explorer will also perform surveys for potential future development work on and near to Shell’s producing fields such as Selasih, F13 and F27 during this current programme.

Earlier news, Shell is relocating many of its #upstream staff in Malaysia to Sarawak from Sabah, while, despite its commitment to the country’s oil and gas sector, up to 300 of its exploration and production unit workers will be laid off over the next two years.

Following recent moves to restructure its whole business amid the energy transition, Shell has identified nine core areas of upstream activity going forward, with Malaysia joined by the UK, Brazil, the US Gulf, the Permian basin in the US, Kazakhstan, Brunei, Oman and Nigeria.

Keppel to exit rig-building business; yet to confirm how many jobs will be cut.

https://www.straitstimes.com/business/compa...t-back-in-black

https://justforex.com/landing/world-trusted...nster=420141548

SINGAPORE (REUTERS, THE BUSINESS TIMES) - Keppel Corp said on Thursday (Jan 28) that its struggling offshore and marine (O&M) segment will exit the rig-building business and shift its focus to infrastructure projects, including renewable energy.

The O&M business will focus on design, engineering and procurement. It will have a "significantly reduced headcount" and its network of yards will be repurposed or divested, Keppel said.

"When we succeed in executing these plans, we will see a transformed and more competitive Keppel O&M, well placed to support the global energy transition," CEO Loh Chin Hua said during a briefing on the results.

The company said it could not yet estimate how many jobs would be cut, but that some employees will be retrained.

As Keppel outlined details of a previously flagged strategic review, it said it would seek opportunities in floating infrastructure and infrastructure-like projects that can deliver more predictable streams of cashflow, including projects in renewable energy and hydrogen.

The restructuring of the business, which has a current headcount of 10,500, is expected to be executed over the next two to three years and existing rigs under construction will be completed.
