based on what i heard, its a 50-50......MMHE have the capability of supporting and Sapura fabrication is hungry for projects 

SapuraOMV would prefer to work with Sapura Fabrication, they feel it might be cheaper.

but the twist here is....base on what i heard few months ago MMHE price was cheaper than Sapura fabrication.

Just my thought, since MMHE have a few jobs ongoing it might just go to Sapura. This will keep Sapura fabrication in the bigger picture for competition in future. We don't want the market to be monopolized by MMHE and kill Sapura fabrication.

SapuraOMV will award the job to the lowest bidder, full stop. With the current gloomy economy climate and the CAPEX reduction activities carried out by the operators, cost of project is numero uno; i.e. the bottom line is to award the job to the lowest, technically qualified bidder.

Personally I prefer Sapura fabricator to get the job. This is will provide more opportunity for the company to sharpen their experience in fabrication of large CPP. We lost a very good and experienced fabricator, Sime Darby, and Sapura is the natural candidate to fill in Sime's shoes. MMHE needs a competitor with respect to fabrication of large topsides.

Maybe MMHE is aiming for the next floatover CPP, Lang Lebah. FEED Lang Lebah is a much anticipated work by the consultants. Stay tune.

Heard mmhe got bid for windfarm projects for a while now, still have nothing to show. Why's that?

Do you know if they win? How many windfarms or windmills jobs they have done?

How many sapura yard done cpp, meaning? They got no expertise kah?

I just wonder how many they have fabricated? and what is the topsides' size? The fabrication of CPP required certain technical capabilities. I am not undermining any local yards i.e. Labuan shipyard, Muhibbah, Oceanmight, Brooke Dockyard, Sapura, and MMHE but there is a technical requirement.

Basically, I am happy with my life and career. Enjoy reading your conversation and discussion though many are just purely guessing

Few month to go before end of year, still trap in oil n gas business where the price oil are stagnant now.

Heard Bank also reluctant giving loan to airlines and oilngas employees.

The Jerun's CPP will go to Sapura Energy as the weight of the topside is 12kMT and the WHP will go to Brooke Dockyard. SOMV is part of Sapura Energy and will help the sister company as Sapura Energy really need a project. MMHE currently busy with Kasawari

Quite sad to hear this. MMC O&G's salary is the lowest among the Engineering Consultants like Petrofac RnZ, Aker Solution, RWP, and Woods Mustang. A salary cut of 25 - 35% will surely affect the ongoing project but it is not impossible. Unlike Petrofac RnZ and other Consultants, MMCOG business is too focus on upstream. Malaysia Oil & gas will be slowing down from Dec until Chinese New Year and things will be back to normal after CNY. As business is slow, most staff will take unpaid leave for the holiday.

If engineering went to Aker Solution then Technip (as a partner in TMJV and TMH) must be very expensive. It is a big blow to Keith, Stephane, and Thierry Wavelet.

yes.hull most probably going to mmhe, but misc are looking for chinese speaking engineers for china based works, they mentioned there for topsides. engineering already awarded to aker if not mistaken
