Hi everyone I just want to ask, if the status says

24 October 2013 Domestic Dispatch
24 October 2013 Internal Process at (MYKULA) KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA
24 October 2013 Send item to customs
24 October 2013 International Acceptance(MYKULA) KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA

Does it mean it has already pass Malaysia's custom and will be going into our local postal delivery soon? Another tracking site seems to state that it has left the post office but I can't find anything from Pos Malaysia's tracking system sweat.gif

Also I saw that link that states there's added Kos Tambang Dagangan for courier services, is EMS considered courier?

Thanks notworthy.gif

Hi, I'm planning to buy a backpack from an online store that ships from the UK.

The total is about rm200, free shipping. They ship via Royal Mail, then passing it to our local postage service.

Is it taxable then? I'm guessing no since it's well under rm 500? But I've never bought stuff from abroad directly myself, hence my concern.

Thanks!!

I am planning to buy projection screen. Per the tariff website, there's only sale tax of 10%. Is this the only extra charge? I don't want want to get heart attack for all kinds of extra/hidden charges.

example:
screen = RM900.
shipping fee = RM100.
total price is (900+100) x 1.1 = RM1100

is my calculation correct?
how about duty?

shipping by ocean freight anything taxable above RM250(inclusive shipping) will be tax, if you import using company you will need to appoint a shipping agent that will cost you a few hundred ringgit in fee's. If you import for personal use then appointing shipping agent will not be required. But will take months to reach you

May I know is it custom's rules if import using company need appoint shipping agent? Couldn't be done by self clearance?

In general, when items > RM500, it will be taxed.
Tax depends on the materials for your phone cases, leather, silicone, plastic etc.. and also on how your supplier declares the amount.
Sometimes using the correct HS code can save you $$.

if you import using personal name.. not company.. you can self declare.. if using company, MUST appoint agent required by Customs

She thought send all together will be easier for her so shipping is less. The package is detained at Butterworth Customs, what can I do? Help please sad.gif

you need to declare what is it and put value.. just put a secondhand market value. just go there and tell them you want to get your item, they will show you to the pos office that will prepare a letter (they will charge you for the service) tell them to put the value.. if the customs officer got no issue.. then off you go with the item.. no duty

Declare as in list the items inside? I can do that but the value, I write myself? I still have the link to a few of the Kpop albums I bought which range to about RM10-RM20 each. Can I use it as a proof and base for the rest I bought? Do you know if photocards are taxable? Thank you!
