pos malaysia will send you a notification via pos.. but if you know your tracking id and sure that its already reach malaysia, you can "try" call them at LCCT Pos...

HI All,
I have a problem here. I bought some clothes from India. And the value written in the invoice was USD60 and the weight was 7KG.
Custom officer in charge has declared the goods as undervalue and he put the vale as RM2160, and i was asked to pay tax RM216. The actual case, the value was only RM1++. IN this case, i am over taxed.

And in fact one item went missing. And after numerous calls and email FEDEX, agreed to refund for a claim. The problem is, would i be able to claim for the invoice value only? That means per items would be USD2 only.

And, how am i suppose to work for the tax. I would like to write to them that i am being over taxed. Is that possible?
What should i do on this?

Thanks everyone

if the invoice attached is suspected to be too low by the customs, they will estimate the price.. but if you have proof of payment "paypal/bank transfer" specific saying for the 7kg clothes.. you might be able to convince the officer.. but only at that moment of declaration.. so be prepare nextime

If you are using courier service you can do dispute, but bfore you receive goods and sign off.... to purposely under declare to avoid tax is an offence by law....you might wanna retract your statement.

Hi guys, spent around 1 hour reading the 100 pages of this forum but still don't quite get about how it works. I hope that someone can really answer my question over here.

1) Anything + Shipment that exceeds RM500 is taxable. Confirm taxable only after RM500? Below that?

2) Here's my case :
I bought 1 Keyboard (RM36) + 1 USB Hub (RM18) + 1 Watch (RM74) + shipment fee RM42 = RM164 in total. Will this parcel kena tax due to the watch?

It ships from China (Taobao[dot]com = China Ebay)

3) Another parcel:
I plan to buy a Blackberry phone that cost RM240 or a Motorola phone that cost RM260 which I will only select one, include shipping and all will be around RM300 per parcel. Will this parcel be taxed due to the phone? But it is not exceeding RM500 limit right?

4) Lets say today the parcel with phone is taxed and stuck in custom. How many percent should I pay for the phone? The charge the percentage base on the price listed on the Online Site or base on Malaysia Market Price (Market price as in official RRP or Lowyat kind of street price)?

Thank youu, this will help me a lot. smile.gif

Hi,

I plan on purchasing cosmetics online from overseas. But may I know what is the limit of purchase/amount before it get taxed? I read somewhere saying not more than £50 and I am safe. Is it true?

Would like to know as I have purchased about total of 9 items and the total I have to pay is about £32. It reached me safely in less than 2 weeks after placing the order. It was my first successful overseas purchase.

I googled and came across this website : http://www.customs.gov.my/index.php/en/com...ry-po?showall=1

It says that cosmetics are under non-dutiable except face powder. But its a 2009 version, and I tried googling a 2012 version but no avail.

Anyone with experiences regarding my issue, please advice and would like to know before I delve into the business.

Thank you.

Hello, I'm very exasperated right now. I've bought an LED monitor from South Korea and having it shipped through Fedex. They said that because it is an LED monitor, they are charging me under TV instead and that would cost me 25% + 10% tax.

The HS code is 8528.59 000

Shouldn't it be under computer monitor instead? And that wouldn't have any tax on it either right?
