U still can mine with 3gb.ETH DAG only be near 3gb in summer 2018. So u have sufficient time to recoup your investment.

QUOTE(AlcaGamerZ @ Jul 3 2017, 12:11 AM) What research ? U mine different thing, this L3+ is dedicated LTC miner. U can hack to run other scrypt based coins. I'm actually a gpu miner , the question above is from my friend . We are using nicehash calculator as A refrence , as we can see nicehash ROI is in 31 Days , Meanwhile 1080 ti 111Days .. (i'm mining using 1080 ti) I do know about the GPU can minig many coins and others but why do we still keep mining gpu even the hashrate is slower than Antminer? Refrence from nicehash comparing apple to apple [attachmentid=8936953] [attachmentid=8936954] By following the refrence that i use from this graph and miner , The antminer is more profitable than 1080 ti GPU miner mines almost everything in worldcoinindex |

QUOTE(Mali @ Jul 3 2017, 12:58 PM) | ASUS GTX 1050 Ti Expedition | 55W | 228 Sols/s | I think you're right.confirm sure? what i found on internet is around 180+- Sols/s Perhaps software gave me wrong reading. I saw 928 Sols/s when I run 2x GTX 1070 and 1x GTX 1050 Ti so I conveniently minus off the GTX 1070 figure. It's actually less, 150 Sol/s. 180+/- could be modded or higher overclocked model. For ETH mining for example, Zotac GTX 1050 Ti does better than ASUS GTX 1050 Ti. |

Scroll up a bit? It's less than 150 Sols/s. I see mine now is 145 - 148 range.

My 1050 2gb gives about 110 Sols/s. So TI at 140+Sols/s seems right.

QUOTE(goldfries @ Jul 3 2017, 12:46 AM) Sorry ah, you comparing Apple to Apple? Alright thanks , i'll tell this to my friend . I dont really know how to answer him about GPU mining and Bitminer Mining . Lets see if he have more question..I thought you were asking about Mining BTC directly? This was your post. However the Antminer L3+ doesn't mine BTC. Look at your screenshot, what does it mine? SCRYPT. What is SCRYPT for? LTC (Litecoin). BTC (Bitcoin) uses SHA-256. And how is it Apple to Apple comparison when both are priced so differently? Let me give you a better comparison. ----------------------- ANTMiner S9 - 14Th/s - Price USD 3,000. Makes 330 USD worth of BTC a month. 6x RX 580 8GB - A little less than USD 3,000. Makes 601.08 USD worth of ETH a month, can be converted to BTC. ----------------------- ANTMiner locally not available, you want to buy? Wait, let them ship. And warranty / breakdown? Straight KO, you have to send back. Compare that to a 6 GPU setup, 1 card breakdown you still mine and all parts available locally. Mining trend ends? OK sell them all off. See the difference now? And also why on earth are you comparing using GTX 1080 Ti? That's like putting the not-so-good GPU miner to the comparison. Price to performance ratio GTX 1080 Ti isn't as good as the lower end cards, which is why you don't see people flocking to buy GTX 1080 Ti. Also you must note the problem with Nicehash is that it uses % here % there and it's hard to gauge. See it better now why people don't use ASIC miners? SUMMARY - Using the right parts, you get better cost to profit ratio. - GPU mining are using components readily available (off the shelf) - Should anything happen to the unit, GPU mining setup's components are easily replaced and can move on / resume operation with ease, not so with expensive ASIC miners. - ASIC miner is not readily available. |

QUOTE(goldfries @ Jul 3 2017, 01:15 PM) Higher DAG means efficiency drop only, that's why I say go with 8GB RX models. Not quite right. Higher DAG size doesn't really affect efficiency. AMD card no 3GB model, only GTX 1060 has. The DAG stores fixed-length hashes of the blocks, not the blocks themselves. Every 7 months the size increases by 1.2GB |
