Currently, the entry cost is expensive, and parts are scare.
Parts are not exactly scarce, only the AMD cards are.

Nvidia cards still plenty around.

Also, see if my videos are alright to be used. biggrin.gif Don't necessarily have to embed because embed takes up space. Can just put link.

*I can edit 1st post but I'd rather the TS do the changes*

I'm doing ETH mining on Azure using Ethminer with 2x Tesla M60s but the hashrate is like around the 30-40MH/s region. Is this considered expected ? unsure.gif

Depends on how much you pay for it.

RX 580 - 30Mh/s
RX 470 - 21Mh/s
GTX 1050Ti - 12Mh/s
GTX 1060 6GB - 18Mh/s

I'm referring to the normal Mh/s of those cards, not cards that have BIOS modded and have speeds changed.

A walk today in LOWYAT shows no capable GPU at a good price range.
That bad?

Anyway if people are getting GTX 1050 Ti, they can consider GTX 1080. biggrin.gif Their efficiency level same when doing ZEC.

The better ones are the GTX 1060 6GB and GTX 1070.

I sold off my GTX 1070 last week so didn't get to test but new one should be in soon. GTX 1060 6GB on the other hand, it's here just that I haven't run it.

Last week when I was at Low Yat Plaza, cards are still plenty. You go 2nd floor TopMaid or Czone for example, still a lot.

Lelong also still have many Nvidia cards, they're not marked up like AMD cards and still do give good hash.

In Lelong, i called all of them. No stock, those are just click-bait to make u happy.

TopMaid don't have 1060,1070. Sold out (or being booked)
CZONE selling 3gb Model at inflated price.

Wow, 1 week difference and there's so much change. Quite sad now for people who want to upgrade gaming rig.

MSI Armor 1060 6gb is excellent choice but price is 1450. It run 23 Mh/s ETH mining. +100 Core Clock, +800 Memory.
This baby having SAMSUNG memory, which are well known for OC friendly.
Price a little bit high but if can get 23 Mh/s it's good.

BRB I go try Zotac GTX 1060 6GB AMP.

GTX 1060 can reach about 20Mh/s if you bump the memory to +200 range. biggrin.gif

Some with better memory and some tweaks, you can go even more.

The above is correct, some cards after tweaked is really good.

Even for GTX 1050 Ti card, I lowered the Target Power and I can get the same hashrate while drawing around 20% less power.

I haven't been reading much about card comparison but for GTX 1050 Ti I did compare with my friend at a shop.

Zotac 1050 Ti Mini for example, does better than my Colorful GTX 1050 Ti 4GB (non-IGame version) and both of them are better than my ASUS Expedition GTX 1050 Ti 4GB.

did u managed to capture the ETH mining hashrate for this little Zotac? Non-modded, should run about 9MH/s?
*
My ASUS GTX 1050 Ti Expedition - 10 - 11 range.
Colorful GTX 1050 Ti (non-iGame) - around 12
Zotac GTX 1060 Ti Mini - around 13 - 14.

All non-modded.

And for those who are interested, my GTX 970M mobile GPU runs at around 11 Mh/s too.

That's about 4x GTX 1050 Ti too. How's the power draw?

My 4x GTX 1050 Ti comes to about 44Mh/s, wall draw about 240 (Actual draw is less than 220W for the cards in total).

Cost is about 7000RM per rig. Total is 14K and u have 145MH/s stock, modded will gives u 168Mh/s
Same goes to GTX 1060.

6x GTX 1060 6GB is around RM 7k+++ already. Total cost is about RM 10k

Power draw is around 600W++ on cards alone and generates about 120Mh/s - 132Mh/s

Basically any board can be used for mining.

Just that for those to put risers and up to 6 rigs - you'll have to look for ASRock and Biostar boards.

BIOSTAR TB250 or ASRock H81 Pro BTC

ASRock H110 Pro BTC coming.

GTX1060 6gb is about 1400 each. How you compute 7K?
A 3gb price is 6 units is 7K++
I go with the RM 1.2k - 1.3k range price to reach around 7k++ range.

There are still many around that price range.

What what I get to know - it's either

a) sold out
b) have stock but only for gaming rig

My friend's shop in Cyberjaya lost 20 customers already since shortage.

goldfries did say so? if it is from the earlier post, I think it is a typo as he was comparing between the 1050s that he tested.
It's a typo. Was referring to 1050 Ti Mini.
