Is it the same as what Minifans and kriss120 encountered?
Different driving conditions bro. Me, on city use, could only get around 11km/l too. That 13.8km/l is on average. If you drive long distance, you'll get better returns compared to City use.

no idea. i don't see the oil leakage at the rim there

will ask SC to check in my next service

Into my second week of waiting for my car. Reading at previous post, average car delivery between 1 to 2 months. Some even longer. SA call up this morning, Crystal Black Pearl available this week if I'm willing to change from Modern Steel Metallic. Not in a hurry for new car, so I decided to wait.

Loan was approved last Friday from Affin with 2.6% interest rate. The rest was at 2.8%.

TCP. Expect slightly higher Fuel Consumption for 1.8 due to larger engine displacement.

Hi guys,

I'm looking into buying the 10th Gen Civic but still contemplating on 1.8s, 1.5tc and 1.5tc-p.

Can you guys tell me on the hi and lo between these 3?

What to be covered:-
1. FC (Based on your car)
2. Problems on both 1.8 and 1.5. (priority)
3. Are there a lot of diff btw TC and TC-P (Spec sheets looks almost the same)
4. Which to choose if getting TC/TC-P
5. Maintenance Costs (Minor and Major)

What to be covered:-
1. FC (Based on your car) - read for TCP. expect a bit worse FC for 1.8.
2. Problems on both 1.8 and 1.5. (priority) Read known issues - both 1.8 & 1.5 face the same issues.

It is not an issue. If city driving, quite normal FC if facing heavy traffic.

I see a few people getting this error in FB. ECU error needs replacement under warranty.

Dear Isr

Is there any problems with tc model like overhearing last year in Thailand occurred here. I'm not worried with engine problems rather than things that wo t affect the safety/reliability of the car.

Cheers

Hi bro.would like to ask for members opinion.Based on what i read before, it seems 1.8 FC is higher than 1.5T...so i would like to know is it justified to buy 1.5TC compared to 1.8?I am planning to get one to replace my saga flx which i have been using for past 4 years and previous to that been using my dad's Saga BLM for 5 years plus. So this will be my first Honda purchase. I know its a huge upgrade but i from the experience of using saga flx which is not fuel friendly in my opinion, there should be no difference between fuel consumption of saga flx and civic fc right?

From what I know, there seems to be 1 genuine case of engine overheating in Malaysia in the first few months after launch. There was a few cases after that, but it was due to the engine radiator fan failing which was causing the engine to overheat. Then when racechip came out, there was a few engine overheat as well tongue.gif but of course, they denied it la...

I would say, it happens, but it's not due to airflow or heat in Malaysia - the US summer heat & desert is even higher than our highest temperature - but due to faulty parts or user own fault.

It's quite reliable imho - and there isn't an epidemic issue like people are suggesting or viraling last year. Most of us bought either TC or TC-P anyway smile.gif

I dunno what is Proton Saga FLX fuel consumption is, but you can see my fuel consumption in the previous post, or at my signature - I'm driving the TCP btw. I would say that 95% of my driving is below 2000rpm, 4% between 2000rpm - 2500rpm and 1% above 2500rpm.

Fuel consumption is very subjective, and it's hard to compare between one car to the other, unless they're driven by the same driver on the same exact route. Even then, it could be different due to traffic condition at the time or the mood of the driver is different as you tend to drive harder when you're angry/in a bad mood biggrin.gif

Anyway, the 1.5T is more frugal than the 1.8 when driven normally or lightly. But when you drive it hard, the 1.5T will suck down more fuel than the 1.8. So it depends on the driver and route.

Your is 1.8? Possible oil leaking from engine. I went for service last saturday and I saw the oil leaking to the engine cover. Service centre told me need to leave the car in sc at least 4 days as they need to dismantle the engine and gearbox to do thorough checking. Very disappoited with the quality of this car. Previously boot cant be closed properly due to defect.

I have a Saga at home and drive it interchangeably with my TC-P, though the Saga should be older than yours (the BLM one) and is manual. Consumption is better with the Civic actually, and at worst the same as the Saga. That said, if you're looking to get the 1.5 Civics, I've noticed that fuel consumption varies greatly based on driving style. If you drive with a light foot, or even a moderate foot, you'll get great FC figures but if you floor it from traffic light to traffic light then gone la.

Hopefully that gives you some idea la, of the fuel consumption.
