Armor alpha and beta? Which one better ?

Beta for flexibility gem slot. Alpha if u like fashion more.

Early high rank game, go for alpha...then you can start going for beta in late game...

10 straight nergi investigations, break horn cut tail with zero gem drop
then the final one, fed up, sleepy already, simply join any sos, all silver reward, wasn't playing seriously, just wanna kill him
3 gems drop for me

if you happen to see the skill(s) you are looking for in Alpha can forge that first.

if you have the decoration/gem(s) on hand (or think you will get sooner or later) to insert into the armor slot then Beta is there for that added flexibility

btw, some Alpha armor also have slots ... just lower level or less number of slot than the Beta variant.

After 300+ mission with lbg (karma normal 2 shot is great, about 80 dmg per 1 burst round), moving on to diablos hbg, funny part is, I spend more on rolling to monster than rolling away from it.

Conclusion, almost the same dmg as 1 burst of karma with normal 3 bullet at hitpoint. Max hit dmg I got from normal 3 bullet is to anja at 110+ per bullet. Wyvernsnipe and wyvern ammo is good force multi. Opted not using shield for hbg and used 3 reload.

One thing though, never make mistake with hbg, you will probably get one shot and reloading is where you will be hit. Monster know when you reload in multiplayer. They WILL target you at reloading time.

After almost 200 hours with lbg, kinda developed 6th sense when monster in multiplayer is going to jump you even when they are facing other players. Look at its eyes...

Nerg is the hulk of the bunch. Like Admiral/ Meowscular chef bunch lvl. ut well, I like pickle boi more though. That guy is insane.

Nerg is harder than the rest for me. Other Elder Dragon bungkus je.
But Nerg.. oh god the slam and dive bomb is pretty dangerous sometimes.

Does tempered monster had their own armor set?

nope. they just hit harder in general and for some monster there is minor variance in their attack pattern or aggressiveness.

mainly they are fought for the possibility of better/special rewards eg. streamstones (especially HR30-49 and HR50+ quests)

If you want to face the full might of tempered monster, solo multiplayer tempered quest, where the ai is adjusted and about 2.6 x hp increase. Glorious fight.

Alpha doesn't just give you appearance. It's depend on what your intended build. Alpha also have empty slots but just few slots lesser than Beta. Alpha will give you higher defense rating & Beta is more on customization.

For me, as i prefer more defense build, i will go for alpha & placed in other defense gems in those slots provided

Btw any benefit from gathering hub arena quest?

There are arena only weapons and etc where you can only get from playing arena stuff.
Also PSN trophies i think.

Let's say I'm now HR6 and taking down Great Jagras, Anjanath, Kulu-Ya-Ku, Pukei-Pukei, Tobi-Kadachi ...takes around 15 minutes with no support items or whatsoever, just my trusty Long Sword. However, with Rathalos, I got a problem. Any tips?

Alot of flashbang. 3+ 10 flashbug. Rath attack is easy to dodge. If you don't like the place you currently fighting it, dung him to other place. Throw flashbang at his face when he is flying for alot of free hit. Do solo hunt. Solo is easy mod for mhworld.
