What a shitshow

https://blog.bitmain.com/en/uahf-contingenc...an-uasf-bip148/

I'm going to standby all coins in exchanges and cash out some in preparation of this scaling circus.

If you want the cheapest Bitcoin and Ether possible, stay tuned. It's coming fast

So BTC is splitting into BTC and BTCC (BitcoinChina) ?

I don't know that, just announcing the date of the war.

How soon or how much is totally up to you. But certainly this conflict will have casualties, don't be one of them.

Hi guys! New to this and have no interest in mining, just want to get my hands on some alt coins and keep (XMR and GNT).

I read the stuff on page 1, but just based off experience could someone tell me whats the best way to get BTC or ETH for MYR? Luno seems like the main avenue at the moment.

Is it possible because of the war in bitcoins, everyone will be dumping btc and transfer to eth?

Hence it will inflate ETH to rally higher because of higher demand.

ETH may become biggest winner in this war. rclxms.gif

This assumes that people are actually interested in staying in the crypto market realm during that time (which is a valid assumption btw). There are very few direct entry and exit avenues for Ethereum at this point of time, many which requires one to go through Bitcoin to exchange for altcoins or Ether.

This will be an interesting show.

It is possible, of course.
However, it is more likely that this civil war will lead to a lot of FUD, causing all the weak investors to flee the entire cryptocurrency sphere into the "supposed" safety of fiat.
In this case, we will see ALL cryptocurrencies taking a nose dive.

However, to be honest, I am not sure how I feel about it.
A true civil war tearing apart the largest cryptocurrency in existence......that's on an unprecedented scale, so when people flee, it's going to be an absolute bloodbath.
But, on the other hand, seeing as to how the other altcoins are building up and holding their own, it also gives me a feeling that the whole cryptocurrency world is not as feeble as many think it is.
We may yet see that the altcoins will take a massive beating, but still rise up again shortly.

That's why WooTz said it's going to be a massive discount sale......it's not the end of the world, people.

Many exchanges now had Eth directly tied to fiat without needing bitcoins as middle man.

I guess it will be less likely affected by bitcoin civil war. Those altcoins that is heavily affected is those that tied only to bitcoins.

Just my opinion and it might not be accurate.

The lowyat dump. This will either make the whole scene stronger or kill it somewhat. But in crypto world... You can never really know what will happen.

Could very well be life as usual but I highly doubt that's gonna be the case

The Antminer (current models the S7, S9 and R4) are purpose-built ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) computers for the only purpose of Bitcoin mining.

It cannot do any other task. It is programmed to mine Bitcoins using the SHA-256 algorithm.

All you need to set it up is to key in your mining pool and your Bitcoin wallet address.

It is much more efficient (hashrate/power consumption) than your custom mining rig that utilizes GPUs.

I believe one of the forum member here is looking to sell his Antminer S7.  smile.gif

This mean Buying Antminer is more worth than spending 20k for 6 gpus with our custom build mining setup? On top of it , Antminer only mine Btc ? Not like us la.. mining using nicehash then get payout need to convert to btc?
