im back on maxis and im now using OP5 ori set 8GB variant A5000 and cannot get 4G+ on maxis in areas i usually get 4G+ on my P10 & p10+

at least... im now asking maxis via twitter to check is it phone issue or telco issue as other telco
Digi 4G+ no issue. can get 4G+ when it is available
Umobile LTE-A (logo 4G+) also detected in Seksyen 1, Bandar Baru Bangi this morning

Saw your twitter. Sorry, not very tech minded, how to tell the two screens apart to show 4G+?

Edit: Nvm, saw it on full screen. Twitter pic was not fullsize biggrin.gif

Considering you are getting twice the storage, I would justify paying a few hundred RMs more for the 8GB. nod.gif

Well... as of 2 minutes ago, it shows 5.5GB used with 2.1GB available. 9 apps open.

Glad I went with 8GB 😁😁😁

Do you think you can force it to switch to Band 7 (4G+) using this app - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?...QuickTest&hl=en ?

Just to point out that band 7 alone is not 4G+, band 3+7 both aggregated together will be 4G+

It is supposed to switch automatically. Hence there is something wrong either in the network algorithm or the Op5 has bandwidth issues.

Haih seems like Maxis doesn't really promise will investigate the issue and most likely they won't for just one phone model.

I went on live chat with them and basically got the same response - under testing, not stable etc. But I didn't have alternative phone to compare so could not point out that other phones can still get 4G+ under that same "testing" environment, why not OP5?
Hope they'll check and not just use that testing environment excuse to sweep it under their carpet sad.gif

I also logged it under Oneplus.net bug report, but no response there yet either... sad.gif

Maybe because Op5 supports so many bands that it doesn't do CA/4G+ well for some telcos sad.gif

Ok, calling all Maxis users of OP5.

I lodged a bug report on Oneplus.net regarding not getting 4G+, and they want to collect user logs for checking.

You can follow the steps in this post:
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/no-4g-on.../#post-16630978

I will be sending mine. The more logs they get, the better it should be to investigate and hopefully find a solution. These are the same Oneplus bug hunters who found the problem with the A3010 not getting 4G+ in Malaysia.

Please send the logs direct to bughunters@oneplus.net under the title "No 4G+ on Maxis network in Malaysia" and quote this link so they know what the log is in refernce to:
https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/no-4g-on...alaysia.597516/

Let's get that 4G+.

I suppose the best person to reproduce the "issue" is someone who has access to both Maxis and Digi simcard
Two logs are to be generated - one using Maxis simcard and another using Digi (individually - not using dual sim at the same time). The log should be able to show when/how does the phone connect to Digi's 4G+ while not connecting to Maxis' 4G+
