Yeah i was shocked when i saw it. at 1st i thought is an AP set. Mana tau is brightstar.  brows.gif
*
yeah man. Hope it lives up to my expectations haha. Been reading reviews and reddit threads in the past 2 weeks.

Out of all "worries" or "problems" that people complained about, I don't really worry about the jelly scrolling and audio issue, I only worry if the Wifi antenna is really problematic.

So far not many complained about it so I hope to get a good unit icon_rolleyes.gif

i ordered this case from taobao, usually I am not a case person (prefer naked) but in the past was always budget plastics like Nexus 4 and Nexus 5. Now it's more flagship so I probably will use a case - thinner the better!

im looking at the deals at qoo10..

GroupBuy

- As buyers gather, special discount is applied.
- Shipping starts when “Deal is ON!”.
- Orders under minimum qty will be automatically cancelled
when group buy ends. Transferring fee will not be refunded when cancelled.
so, if cancelled, no refund ???
*
I found the phone number of the seller and I whatsapp-ed him, basically the minimum order is only 1, and even if the group buy is cancelled, you get full refund of the price you paid. I think the transferring fee means any extra transaction fee due to bank or payment system.

I also placed order and mine is already shipped out, will receive by Tuesday most likely.

Saw this seller selling Samsung GS8 with RM500 discount, already have 21 positive reviews.

Hmm curious about this as well... not yet receive mine but searched around, I can't find any info about which LTE CA bands are available.

I found that these bands are supported FDD-LTE: Band 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/17/18/19/20/25/26/28/29/30/66
and it has LTE 3xCA, 256QAM, Cat 12
but nowhere mentions which LTE CA bands are there.

EDIT: Found in XDA! Should support B3+B7 LTE CA... https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-5/...ds-op5-t3632598

Haha thank you, I just found in XDA and updated my post, then you tagged me. Yeah should be...
Maybe it's just the area of cschong2 not able to get CA?

A5000. The icon is showing 4G only. Maybe because I am in indoor.
*
Can't test mine yet even though my mom said it arrived, cuz I am still overseas.

Do you know the app to test LTE CA /4G+? I remember seeing screenshots before. I suspect *maybe* there's not 4G+ indicator on OP5 but the chance is low since OP 3T has it..

But anyway if I can get 60+ Mbps download speed on my phone that's good enough for me even without 4G+ haha

I suspect that OnePlus 5 A5000 (which OnePlus claimed that there's only one version) supports LTE CA but not the specific B3+B7 that we use in Malaysia.

OnePlus 3T A3003 supports it but not A3010, and there's an A3000 version for Europe region which of course doesn't support B3+B7.

So I think maybe in this A5000 unified version, they left out B3+B7? So far didn't see any A5003 or A5010 in the wild yet

Do you all think Brightstar will exchange 1 on 1 on jelly effect issue?  hmm.gif
*
Even if they exchange 1 on 1 for you, it's going to be the same because (as you already know) the root problem is the upside-down display panel which is the same for every oneplus 5. You just have to live with it haha

Overall the performance damn smooth compared to my OPOne. Battery life is fantastic. The portrait mode is quite disappointing when u use it under low light/indoor environment. The outcome is not that sharp except the focused area. Btw, if u are getting tempered glass, please get the one which doesn't cover the front camera lens. Coz if covered with TP, it will caused flare issue.  bangwall.gif
*
good to hear that. I ordered film type instead of glass because I know there's no perfect tempered glass that can cover whole screen (even those with white border remover liquid are not that good). And yes it has camera cut out rclxm9.gif

https://detail.tmall.com/item.htm?spm=a230r...d=3418974932289

cheap also rmb 28 + international shipping total should be < RMB 50 .
*
I also ordered from taobao, not this exact one but also soft one.

Tips: if you're buying from taobao, buy a few things together and use consolidated shipping. It only costed me 20 RMB (RM13) to ship 6 items together because total weight less than 1 kg haha.

op3t is officialyy dead

Hardware dead or software brick? If software you can fix it and still resell.

If just battery, replace battery and still can sell 2nd hand pretty good price.

64gb storage comes with 6gb RAM, not 8gb. If it's 8gb RAM, it should come with 128GB.

If in the end it's 64gb, better buy from the Qoo10 seller, cheaper and brightstar warranty. If 128gb, better COD. Many scammers on Mudah.

I went all around Low Yat yesterday trying to find a unit to get one in my hand before I buy.

The only place with any in stock is the IT Supermarket on 2nd top floor but they don't have any on display - all out the back. They won't let anyone look at them until they have already purchased.
And all are the 64GB units - no info or knowledge on when they will get the 128GB version which is what I want.

I buy a lot of stuff online but won't do that for a phone as look & feel are important. So is getting one without a dead pixel right in the middle of the screen or some other problem I would notice before I left the shop. Warranty is one thing but they don't do immediate 1-for-1 swap so you are without a phone for weeks or months.

While the lowyat forum is getting bigger & bigger, the Low Yat shopping center is getting really boring these days - no new or interesting products, foreigners running 90% of the shops and more & more shops closed down.
I live almost next door so go there all the time but am looking forward to the MRT opening tomorrow so I can go looking elsewhere - anyone know of any shops near other MRT stations with 128GB instock? :-)
*
Nowadays many things also moved to online purchase, even laptop, phones... My house is just 15min drive to Lowyat Plaza but I almost never shopped there in the past few years because many things can be found cheaper online without the need to travel, parking, traffic jam, or visit there and found out there's no stock or not available.

For phones, if you're worried about online shops, I suggest some renowned offline shops like DirectD. However 128GB version is quite rare now, I am not sure if DirectD has ready stock. Can try call them up http://www.directd.com.my

(Even if the shop is not near MRT, just take LRT/MRT to the nearest station to that shop and take a Grab/Uber...)

There are reports that the OnePlus 5 reboots when trying to call 911
18 JULY 2017
There have been several reports that the OnePlus 5 reboots if you try to dial 911, including a test on video (watch it on Facebook). It seems that dialing other emergency numbers like 112 in Europe triggers the same issue.

Multiple people have chimed in the Reddit thread (source link) to confirm that the phone reboots when calling an emergency number.
This doesn’t seem to affect earlier models, though last year the OnePlus One (running CM13) did have a similar problem(there was no official response in the OnePlus forum thread).

It goes without saying that this should be a top priority for OnePlus to fix. In a statement to The Next Web, OnePlus said it is looking into the issue. If you experience it too, you can contact support@oneplus.net.

As mentioned multiple times in the Reddit thread – do not call 911 (or other emergency numbers) just to see if your phone reboots. You could try the non-emergency number first to ask if it’s okay to do a test.

Source | Via

Did anyone try call emergency n toll-free number?

Latest update, chill bros, it's probably not just OP5 and it has to do with some country's 911 service code:

QUOTE
This also may be an issue with the enhanced 911 services code that automatically sends location data to dispatch. It may be a widespread issue (AOSP), or just to OP.
It looks like most users are reporting this issue in both the US and UK (at least from what I've seen).
If you want to test the capability of your phone dialing your emergency services, please call your non-emergency line to schedule a test call. It's completely OK to do so smile.gif This may differ if you're not in the US, but it's just courteous to give dispatch a heads up.

Was just asking at directd and satu gadget.

DirectD - Lots of forced crap for preorder 8GB, 3rd party casing, screen protector, antivirus, etc.
              Totals up to almost 3k.

Satu Gadget - Preorder takes 2-3 weeks, no extras unless you want them, but different sets, international and Msia,
difference of about extra RM400 for International, but apparently Msia set won't be able to get 4g in foreign
countries, eg. Europe and Canada (i'm quoting what the sales guy said).

Anyone can confirm this? Or is Satu gadget is just looking to make a quick buck? I might migrate, so I'm a little wary on this issue.
*
I saw everywhere that there is only one version of OnePlus 5 unlike the previous models, that there's no difference in models except maybe the charger pin.
