is it easy to drill the wall tiles without being cracked?

i am planning to slow drill it then change to hammer drill at the end but should i spray some water while drilling?
*
Easy but better use a PROFESSIONAL drill to look pro laugh.gif laugh.gif laugh.gif

Haha jokes aside what you will need is a 500rpm or slower mode in the drill driver.

No need to worry, use spade bit and drill slowly on NON-hammer mode, tile depth u can get from tile edge or so, once u gone past (not just the tip) the dust will change colour (from tile colour/white) to cement mortar colour.

Per hole:
Expect to take 8-10mins best case, or >30mins if hardwearing floor tile used as wall tiles.

Please check + axes of any water points to avoid water spout problems.

Up to 10 holes can lah
https://shopee.com.my/Wately-Battery-Cordle...16468.717597438

If you need a lot of holes (not just water heater)..but mirror, towel rail, etc..
Just buy the latest Bosch GSB185 metal chuck icon_idea.gif drills more accurately than plastic chuck
https://shopee.com.my/BOSCH-GSB-185-LI-Cord...682.20309501938
pao with 2AH + charger for RM459

Spade bit 6mm
Buy a few and keep, in case ur tile very hard.
https://shopee.com.my/Navato-Glass-Bits-(6m...0761.6583249403
These are consumable items IMO and contractor don't really want to drill tile because time consuming + battery consuming if cordless & kena fcking hard rock tile.

China drill OK lah but won't be a "family heirloom"
The cheap china drill better buy w 2 batteries.

1) may be hard to find batts
2) tile drilling makan battery coz 8-10min best case per hole. U need to go slow (<500 rpm) gear otherwise u just polishing ur drill bit. Its like peeling onion layer by layer due to the tile material.

QUOTE(ar188 @ Feb 22 2023, 09:55 PM)
actually i dont see any thing great about the "professional" blue bosch series. at least not in woodworking. makita is way better, and festool/mafell at the top of the price chain... maybe contractor level ok la they hebat. professional contractor. if there is such a thing. hahaha

for me, i view ryobi as low end cos i also use festool/makita combo for wood working. so if ryobi is low end from my angle., then those china brands are like disposable brands. laugh.gif
*
Blue bosch cheaper by equivalent makita by RM100 leh. Makita battery more expensive laugh.gif

I am not sure if this is consider power tool but I want to get a laser level for simple DIY job at home.

I'm on a budget so for something like Bosch is too much. Can anyone recommend OK brand to go for?

Here is one that interest me although I am not sure if the brand is OK or not.

If I wanted spirit level I wouldn't be asking. I know the dangers of laser but I still want one anyway.

I've been using Sanco 16 line for a year. Dropped the laser from top of the door jamb with my earmuffs and the laser is still accurate; I have checked it with my 120cm Stabila.

1 battery lasts for few hours. You'll be fine with 12 line.

I also am not sure about the brand Keelat, but more expensive is Bossman, 12 or 16 line. (Maybe about RM 300-ish?)I was thinking of getting one, so I went to the hardware stores to have a test and a feel. It is reasonably robust, and the laser is accurate and bright. I liked it, and would have bought one but I decided to check online first. Now still haven't bought, but is in my cart smile.gif Partly because I have a Taiwan laser, and also a Bosch GLL5-50x

And just sharing my experience..... get a laser. The freedom of that vertical or horizontal light projected is priceless!

Long time no post in here already.
Adding this new toy to my makita family of tools. A 40v blower.
The handheld blower I use for PC cleaning keep dying due to battery issue. So decide to spend more to get a good blower and be done with it.

Tools from 40V and 40Vx2 family are equal power to normal AC power now. Especially the vacuum cleaner.

yea makita batteries expensive, prices not good.

bosch is probably cheap due to its ongoing free 4.0ah battery promo with tools..

i use milwaukee 5.0s rm250 each/ dekit prices. i.e. people selling their extra ori batteries from kit package.

Nvm la, since I plan to get more 40v devices anyway.
Inflator (air pump in petrol staion always long queue or break down)
vacuume cleaner (Malaysia dont have 40v x 2 version yet)
miter saw (small version, not the 10 inch one)

I wonder will makita make 40v x 2 pressure cleaner or not.

I tried to hold the 40v rotary hammer, too heavy for my use, so normal tools like drill etc likely i will stay with 18v

Just a counter point to consider.....

I wanted an air compressor to put in the car and wanted to get the Milwaukee M12 compressor (because I already have the batteries) In the end I decided not to as it would tie up a battery in the car, and there would be a worry of the battery going flat, heat damage to the battery, etc. In the end I got a Xiaomi corded air compressor (~RM 160) that I can safely keep in the car, always ready to plug into the car 12V, and works perfectly.

Maybe you really, really need the portability, and there is a use for the battery air compressor that I am not utilizing, but I am happy that I have the corded Xiaomi along with my car all the time. In the house I have a 2 HP air compressor anyway. So, just sharing my experience, YMMW.

ya ya .. if got the battery system already then its totally fine.

usually i like to keep my rotary/drill/driver lightweight, if got small 2ah battery also can liao...no need to mega 9ah 18v batts.

I'm planning to buy my first air compressor for lvlp small paint job and nailers. I want an oilless type that can last few years before kaput. I can't decide between Artix 30L/ 3.7 cfm (500 ish) and Swan 22L/ 4.3 cfm (1.2k).

Should I buy once cry once or buy it twice. Any recommendations?

yushin is your Swan still working?
