QUOTE(cba5566 @ Oct 15 2019, 05:02 PM) I need to drill holes on toilet's tile. 6mm and 8mm hole size. This one can use to drill on pure rotary (no hammer) mode ma.The bosch gsr 120 gen2 drill power enough to do the task ? Or do i need to look for bigger brother gsr 180 li drill ? 30 Nm is enough to drill 8mm hole on tile ? I already have rotary hammer... I need some advice...thank you. Personally I prefer to use the rotary as it has two handles for more accurate grip. |

I missed cba5566 mentioning that he already have a rotary hammer.Personally I prefer to use the rotary as it has two handles for more accurate grip. Then just need to use tile bit and drill in normal mode until make a hole through the tile. Then change bit for masonry and use the hammer mode to drill to the depth required. The easiest way to drill tile is to put a tape on tile the X position you want to drill and then drill. This way the drill bit tip will not run around in the beginning |

Dewalt table saw fence needs to be upgraded to get more accurate cut, try cutting a piece of MDF preferred 15-18mm then drive a screw from the other side to secure it. Don't over tighten it and it will bend the fence. need to improve my skill. My first unit was misaligned out from the factory, instead of redo alignment, I request for a replacement.2nd one the blade is close to 90 Degree to the top. |

QUOTE(ianlti @ Oct 16 2019, 08:21 PM) From my research only Jet Cast Iron Table saw is available in Malaysia, the rest need to import from the nearest china. Sawstop/Powermatic/Harvey when you get use a 10feet sliding panel saw (i am using china one from local suppliers), even sawstop / harvey/powermatic etc cabinet saw is not that great anymore.only Martin /SCM/altendorf will feel better |

QUOTE(odour_stop @ Oct 17 2019, 04:38 PM) My left hand was injured and only can use 20~30 % power.Rotary hammer is heavy for me at the moment. Anyway , i have test to drill on toilet's tile with bosch cyl9 ceramic 8mm drill bit. More holes cannot la.... Two holes only is ok for me.Each hole drill 5 to 6 times to cool down the ceramic bit. I used normal electric drill 450w which is smaller and lighter for 8mm ceramic drill bit. Once pass through the tile , then used 8mm sds bit for rotary hammer. Seems like not only cordless drill can handle the tile drill , normal electric drill also can do the job as well. The only thing is can't adjust the drill speed like what battery cordless drill can do.... The branded 12V cordless drill like bosch , makita or dewalt is not cheap ... |

I have 750W corded hammer drill with adjustable speed. I also have rotary hammer for wall, concrete and heavier job when needed. I also have cordless drill driver for lighter job. I used whichever suitable for my task I used to have 500W single speed drill last time. Can only use for very fast screwing |

If drlll hole on wall, behind is hard stone , need to press max force .... The beauty of the cordless drill is tighten the screw with adjustable speed control. It is light and comfort to hold. Alot of fun to use the cordless drill. If it is the branded drill some more better. |

See if GBH18V-LI should be good if paired with a lightweight battery (1.5/2AH)? It can do everything whilst not being crazy heavy. I think a 12V from bosch or makita (cordless) would be a great choice. Not terribly heavy since its 12V. Entry level ones will do for the tile bit. If you only need to drill one to two holes. It's ok to first drill with spade bit and periodically wet the bit. Then change to rotary.
But if you install a kitchen cabinet for example, I just straight use rotary with the hammer function without the tape. Start slowly. The tile wouldn't break, but do chipping 1 in 20 hole. Since the hole will be covered so no care. |

I run into some issue. How do I cut bigger pieces in my table saw? Any suggestion?
I would like to cut a base panel for my cabinet estimate dimension 600mm x 900mm. The rip fence just not able to support either dimension. |

QUOTE(dannygoh @ Oct 20 2019, 01:28 PM) I run into some issue. How do I cut bigger pieces in my table saw? Any suggestion? You probably just have to make a table saw to put your Dewalt. Instead of using the fence that came with the saw, you can clamp a straight piece of plank or a strip of straight plywood as a fence. However, this would be a project within your current project I would like to cut a base panel for my cabinet estimate dimension 600mm x 900mm. The rip fence just not able to support either dimension. The easiest and fastest way is to have another a small table or saw horse. Put another board or another piece of 1/2 inch plywood to form a big table. You can then clamp a straight wood or metal on the far end as fence. Another simpler option is to just use a circular saw. It is not difficult to cut straight piece.
