If you observe the working mechanism of the jig-saw,
you will noticed that it really only good at making curve or crook line
finishing of cut-edge was also relatively rough which required further processing.
since it is a rarely use tools, so spend your money elsewhere like a better drill or something else.

if the material is quite thick ex 11/2" timber or 6mm mild steel plate over 24" length
you might need to buy a jig saw with some muscle like a 800W or larger one.

the two brand of your choice are all made in china for most of it products in boleh-land market.
Since we're going to buy Chinese made tools, might as well we go all the way with some premium Chinese brand.
I had three Worx tools with me, a sabre saw, a wu462, and WU171 16V (in reality was really 12V only) cordless drill and a WU676 multi-purpose tools.
you can see from the line up all of them except the cordless drill are really big-boy toys which one can live without!

The WU171 being a cordless product and which I use frequently , I do expect it to fail in 2~3years
the two supplied battery still had plenty left in them after 5~6 years owning it.
(I had rewired my whole house solo couple of months ago and use it on daily basis.)
The Worx WU 462 with E-speed controller, alloy base plate can be purchase at RM488.
if you're concern about after sales service, then stick to Bosch or Makita as they're reputable brand in Malaysia
but then again none of my power die a early death in DIY home environment,
even my very first two power tools a Hitachi PD100 angle grinder still work after 30 years and use frequently,
and one AEG 400watt impact drill die in the hand of Indon worker while fixing water-gutter down pipe on concrete pillar.

Just sharing.

Like you I am just a partime DIYer. But during the height of my earlier 'equipment aquisition phase' (tongue.gif), I bought myself a used circular saw online, and later a Bosch 10.8V cordless drill (and much later a impact driver by bosch, which is excellent). Because of the same battery system I later got myself a 10.8V bosch cordless zig saw too.

These two combition, ie, corded circular saw and a cordless jigsaw turned up to be an excellent combination. For straight line, I used the powerful corded circular saw with a diy straight line guide. Jigsaw only meant for convenience with mobility. You may want to consider this combo too.

Ya, one saw for straight line and 1 saw for curve line. It will be a good combination.

If you really get one, do your self a favour and buy proper jigsaw blades for their intended use. They make a world of difference.

Revisiting the topic of Bosch Go. Lazada/Superbuy is doing CNY bundle and one of it looks to be this at RM138 with screw driver bits. Not the cheapest compared to launching price but acceptable with voucher.

My question to the owners is: Do you still find it useful? Do you use it more than your 12/18V drill/impact driver for small household jobs? Is it too powerful even on the lowest torque setting? Is seems to be a useful tool for my job but it won't be useful if it strips screw heads...thanks.

One have to look at the blade holder also.

Jig saw blade come in 2 type of shank. T shank and U shank.

Widely use now is T shank. Cause modern jigsaw now design with toolless clamp. So becarefull not to get the U shank type.

I remember last time the blade sometime fall off when pressing too hard to saw. Using U shank type. sad.gif

You might not be comfortable with the auto engage way it start and finish screwing. It easily get the screw damage.

What I don't like
1) prefer more manual to control it run. A press button would be prefer. Instead press in to start. Sometime caught you off guard when press without ready.
2) Prefer torque stopping using the rachet mechanism. Instead the electronic torque stopping. Which mainly cause the slipping and damage the screw.

Other than that, it running perfectly without any problem.

If you mainly use for wall screw, roof or anything related to construction, Bosch Go might not suitable. Better use 12/18v impact driver or drill.

very small. even battery operated ones can drill.

the thing about drilling tiles, you need tile drill bits. and they need to be run slow and a constant flow of water to keep the drill bits cool. and do nout use impact/hammer function on such drill bits.

Ceramic drill bit to be exact. After the tile cleared, better change to masonry bit because you need the 'impact' to drill the concrete faster and ceramic drill bit is not suitable for impact. It will be worn pretty fast and it's costly.

Yes.

Masonry bit for concrete. Masonry bit can use impact/hammer function.

For tile need diamond tip bit. Remember to ask the seller on how to use/start the drill using the bit.
