Celcom mega lightning xl cannot hotspot? I'm currently using old celcom 188 plan with 100gb data and extra 100gb vid walla, i put this simcard on my huawei modem to be share between my family. If change new plan no more sharing? Must change to new celcom home wifi if like this..

Sorry, I was mistaken, the hotspot data is the whole data if you take the base plan only OR lightning plan

To zhi1437 please read the edited post, sorry ya, celcom plan for data that can be used for hotspot is not straightforward since they introduced the unlimited plan

Celcome MEGA Plan, please check my statement below whether is correct or wrong.

MEGA (RM80)
Hotspot 30GB

MEGA + Unlimited M (RM80 + RM18)
Hotspot 5GB only

MEGA + Lightning M Pass (RM80 + RM18)
Hotspot 40GB (30GB + 10GB)

I chat with Celcom FB support and got the above, but it looks like doesn't make sense.

Hotspot and Speed is everything for me.
Monthly data usage is about 8GB to 10GB only.
No video streaming, purely internet for working.

Thinking to switch from Maxis to Celcom, but the MEGA plan seem not suitable, want to confirm here.

No, for all usage access

Say, this situation

You take the base mega plan? 30gb you can use however you want

You need more all usage data? More hotspot data? Take the mega + lightning M/L/XL pass

You need unlimited data? Trade your 30gb all usage data for this 5mbps/15mbps unlimited M/L pass, we also give you extra 5gb/10gb data for you to use hotspot

If you look at the unlimited plan, you are basically paying rm98 + sst for 5mbps, and rm148 for 15mbps. Do you think the price is reasonable? If celcom is the only Telco covered within your place and you use hundreds of gb on mobile then go for it

their plans get worse and worse, this latest one is capped specifically for video streaming - so if you stream video, good luck, you can only watch SD movies...

I think someone fell off their chair in the marketing department and killed some brain cells.

apple produce their apple watch with lte, so people can receive and make calls using apple watch thru lte network

Celcom and maxis need to apply volte to their network for apple watch to work, thus for now they only supports iphone, instead of ios and android phone supported like u mobile, digi and Unifi

Yes is the other way around, only supports android officially

Will that works? As far as I know android phones mostly has that feature but it's being blocked because carrier update hasn't push the update to enable it.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

VoLTE = your device must be capable + your network must be capable + your LTE coverage

HD calls on VoLTE = your device must be capable + your network must be capable + your LTE coverage + recipeint LTE coverage + recipient network must be capable + recipient device must be capable

The only limitation of the VoLTE calling or HD calling is that the receiving end also needs a VoLTE support. Both the devices should support VoLTE to make HD calls.
https://www.mobigyaan.com/facts-about-volte

Other than phone supporting voLTE,one thing to note is both callers on either side is connected to VOLTE.

So lets say both phones support voLTE. But the caller at (City) calls out with voLTE signal to receiver at let's say (Tuas) without voLTE signal, you won't get the HD digital call effect.

You won't get the clear voice but technically you're still on the VoLTE call at your end.
