The standby time on my S8 plus is honestly terrible, every time I see my phone it'll drop 1% (like every 15 minutes). Planning to do a factory reset this weekend.
*
fully charged 100% unplug use less than 5 mins it will drop to 99%...

the squeeze function they keep promoting is to squeeze and take pictures..

wont your pictures be blurry or out of focus then.. Talk about gimmick  doh.gif

If they promote the squeeze function by showing it opening or doing other stuffs then still understandable la.

But this... Taking a picture while his hand shaking madly because squeezing the phone. Brilliant job, HTC.  doh.gif

Just disable the squeeze function and use the traditional one. I also disable my edge function on my S7 edge. Of coz everything is gimmick. Just for marketing purpose. U need some unique function sometime to sell your product.

cannot be helped, you're the only one complaining about battery life.

A lot here have advised you not to focus on the battery life for the moment, but yet. If you cant help yourself, neither can we.

Furthermore, you are using s8+, the battery is more than capable to last a person a full day even with gaming involved. But you still focus on the battery drain of it when idling..

Go ahead and do the factory reset, hope you will find an improvement after doing that. If you still unhappy, guess the S8+ is not the phone for you.
*
Actually I check a few person on XDA also complaint about standby time. I'm normally not that particular about battery, but maybe cause I have AOD turned on so I can keep seeing the battery decreasing.

I used smart switch to transfer from iPhone 7 Plus when I set up my new S8+, so that might cause some problem. Will reset the phone tonight or tomorrow.

Another one reporting this issue, way before anyone reported on this issue in this thread I thought I was the only one facing it but kept quiet because it doesn't affect anything, and if you use recent apps to close Facebook instead of back key you won't see that zoom-in and zoom-out animation anyways. I think TS mentioned before this one Facebook have to fix it on their end so all we can do is wait I guess. sad.gif

Either way it's odd, never happened when I was using my Note 5 so it's leading me to think it's only happening on S8/S8+ devices.

After enabled battery stat still can't figure which section drain ur battery? Placebo effect? I found AOD in S8 is draining more compared to S7E & Note7 that I have used before.

If 2%/H still consider OK for AOD on in standby mode.

Reset ur phone sure help at first, but after u setup & install all the apps that u wanted then same scenario came back. I tried this 3 times until I give up & let it be. Who knows it learns to control well now... doh.gif

Also, u can also try to reset battery gauge using dialer on code *#0228#, see whether it helps or else?
