Very frustrating platform. Can never buy or sell during peak hours. Their platform keeps telling you 'network problem'. Lost so many opportunities and now this greyed out Amend and Cancel button.

You will receive a template email response stating "system being upgraded, be patient bla bla bla". Good thing I never opened margin account with them.

I plan to move away from Rakutentrade. Spoke to a broker friend of mine. He told me Rakutentrade is the worst platform on the market now. He opened up his trading platforms(he has two!) and showed me. There are SO many features and things not available in Rakutentrade that is a standard feature in many other platforms. If only I consulted him before making this mistake.

Imagine you rent a car for a cheap price which only works fine if traffic is smooth. The moment you encounter traffic jam, traffic lights or other peak hour events, your car overheats and cannot be driven. You cannot fix the car because it is a rented car not your own car. You complain to the car rental company who keeps telling you, yeah yeah we will upgrade the car. Be patient. So you always miss your appointments, late to work, stranded at the roadside, couldn't turn up to meet your bf/gf/buddies/family. Will you continue to rent and drive this car?

I would rather pay a bit more brokerage fees for something that works properly and is stable.

I am gonna close this account soon after I clear off all my trade. Really pundek app. Whenever its urgent it will hang. I call up before customer service and if you are loud with them, they will lansi you back. Useless company.

That is what I was saying earlier. A template email response. I have received something like that too from them before AND that greyed out AMEND and CANCEL issue everyone was experiencing earlier today - I received an exact same email response from them. It is not difficult for anyone to copy, paste and press send.

A quick look at their FB page and all the pages in this thread shows there are many complaints about their substandard service and platform from before. I believe I saw a Rakutentrade rep on this thread too but this person is now totally silent. I am sure they are aware of it.

The Number 1 priority and expectation of any service provider, in this case, a broker, is to provide a service. If trading was halted by Bursa yesterday, nothing can be done and it is not their fault as all brokers are affected.

However, if it is due to high volume traffic or network issues that tons of people have experienced and complaint before, it is clearly and solely Rakutentrade's problem to bear and resolve as this is an issue with their substandard platform. You cannot pass the bucket. All other stuff like this and that points are just gimmicks. If you could tell them to take back all those points and other gimmicks and even charge a bit more for brokerage in exchange for super stable platform service which works all the time each and every time, would you do it?

If a restaurant serves me lousy food and service, I will never go back there and tell everyone to avoid that place. Same goes for any other service provider. Once bitten twice shy.

Long time didn't visit this thread. As usual, the problem still there with rakuten. Already got my plus account, satisfied with it. If u guys wanna switch to mplus, be prepare for 1 month wait.

i put an order in at 8.50am this morning for TG. and wanted to amend it at 9.10am; but it gave me a Pending after i submitted. I could not cancel or do anything until an hour later and by then the order fulfilled my first order.
Is there anything i can do to dispute this?

Hi, anyone here can enlighten me.. currently my trading limit amount is correct..however my cash value is about 6k lesser than my trading limit.. anyone here experience this before?

Hi guys, does anyone here understand the "average system" Rakuten uses for their stock trades? Here's what happened.

1) Bought shares at price A. Went up to price B.
2) Put in limit-sell order (Price C) at lower price incase falls drastically.
3) Order accepted - but all shares sold when opening of session.
4) Looked at Realized profit/loss, showed earned 4 figure sum.
5) Then I rebuy the shares at higher (Price D). Same quantity.

Somehow, Rakuten "average" my sale and now the profit/loss is a 3 figure sum, while my portfolio shows the same shares, but at averaged amount of (Price A + Price D).

Can anyone explain how it actually works? Really confusing.

I also don't understand, I only look at my trading limit amount which is currently correct..

Happy to see so many people closing their accounts. Ever since March's havoc, a lot of people are flocking in to RT.

Prior to March, few minutes and there will be someone answering the call. Now, 1 hour past but music is still running.

Please, close your account if you're not happy with RT. Don't jam the system.
