If Bursa and HKSE you can search by counter number or name while NYSE you have to search company name or the stock ticker for example AAPL for Apple

How do we find the ex dividend date on rakuten app?

Or do we need to go online via browser to check?

What wolud happen If I hold until the date and the prices drop ?

You need to find under the stocks details in announcements

If you hold until the date and the price drop πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ then you are on paper loss until sell it and realised the loss itself

So It's not just buy and hold until the date and get dividend?

I need to sell it before tge prices drops?

You sound confused.
Maybe go read up on market value, unrealised gain/loss and realised gain/loss.

Price changes daily during market hours πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ so don’t think you buy and stuck at the same price as it is like not buying Mcdonalds set meal πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

You are confused because buying is one thing πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ dividends is another thing

You can buy and keep but remember prices goes up and down and dividends is just only bonus for you but it is subject to whether the company boards who decides whether to give out dividends or not

dividend in your pocket is a sure thing
temporal price change following dividend payout is normal and is short term
