Rakuten biggest weakness is too little US Stock about 1000 only.
I have to switch to other company due to this problem.

I don't know why they cannot support ALL US stock trade.
This is a very serious problem.

which everymonth certain date will auto buy in our selected stock.

Because they are fees and charges when they are using IBkR backend πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ hence limited stocks which means the cost savings passed down to consumers

I don’t see any a serious problem πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ you got the understand why they do it in the 1st place

To make your life Simple just buy everything at IBKR instead πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

The latest bump of fees just too much for the profit to cover

End up loss making for me when selling

The fees didn’t bump πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ because if you trade in RM the fees looks bigger because of the RM depreciation to rm4.60 range

That is why when you sell you have to make sure at least 5% above your buying price to cover the charges

Does anyone know if holding US Treasury ETF like TLT in Rakuten will get refunded the Qualified Interest Income every year like IBKR?

Rakuten Min fee is USD1.88 and up to maximum of USD25 per trade while IBKR you pay flat USD0.35 per trade hence why minimum 5x the fees or more πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Hi. Am new to this. What sort of fees/taxes are we looking at when we buy or sell a stock, especially US stock?

That is withholding tax πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ only on dividends not the actual holding of stocks so don’t worry too much about it unless you are buying dividends heavy stock
