QUOTE(birain @ Jul 15 2017, 06:17 PM) ic, btw, the thumprint, agent come to get or need to go tmpoint? My experience:- how long it takes for the agent to take your application for unifi lite? - when unifi lite approved, how long it takes the installer to come and installer unifi lite? Thumbprint taken by agent in the late afternoon Day 1: I received 2 emails from TM confirming order submission Day 2: Received SMS from TM approving my order, along with installer phone number and date of installation. Got a call from TM staff asking me to verbally confirm my order, followed by another SMS confirming my confirmation, and confirming my install appointment. Many confirmations! Day 3: An installer (different from the phone number given to me by SMS on day 2) phones me in the morning asking if he can come earlier instead of at the afternoon appointed time. I say no problem as I set aside the whole day to wait for the installer. He arrived in 10 minutes and installation took less than 1 hr, everything working fine. While he was installing, another installer calls my cell asking if I wanted unifi installed today! I told him someone was already installing it and he said goodbye. In the afternoon, another installer phones me asking if he can come now and install |

QUOTE(andyng38 @ Jul 15 2017, 04:13 PM) TP Link, D'link, ZTE, Netis....does anyone know why TM gives so many different brands of routers?? In terms of parts sourcing, it is never a good idea to source from a single manufacturer/supplier. If a single sourced manufacturer/supplier is unable to meet TM's demand, then they are screwed which means new customer wont get their equipment. Delayed in installation for new customers means less revenue for TM.A very large bulk purchase of 1 brand would certainly get a better price and/or a better model of router, not to mention making it easier for tech support to help users, as well as for subscribers to able to share info and tips. Or is it a matter of various suppliers with cable or cronies taking turns to supply TM? Also with more supplier/manufacturer, it gives TM some negotiating power - in the sense that you can lower the price to be comparable with other supplier/manufacturer. But of course it also depends on how good their procurement team manage the volume that each supplier/manufacturer gets which can get tricky. I'm not in the supply line background but I've worked with procurement teams to qualify alternative components source in the electronic industry - it is a norm and healthy practice to get supplies from more than 1 source. Hope this helps This post has been edited by nmb3rs: Jul 16 2017, 12:29 AM |

Current solution, im setting it up on my devices instead on the router..sigh.. |

Hey... did you try connecting via the 5ghz channel instead of the 2.4Ghz channel? Try that and see.. somehow today I only realized my usb Wi-Fi adapter has AC capability and so I changed to that... not sure if it is placebo effect but my internet surfing speed was pretty fast without delay.... I will continue to monitor further but maybe AC channels less ppl use so less interference...

Hi guys, how can we check if our area has got coverage for Unifi Lite vDSL version?
Not keen on fibre as I cannot drill holes at wall due to some fixture inside my apartment.' Hence would like to use back the copper phone line (on streamyx 4mb now). |
