QUOTE(ciwi1166 @ May 9 2017, 10:05 AM) it will come down to price, which is more competitive. over here is Msia, after gst price, not OTRquality wise should hv no problem, coming from kawa and yama. Z650 RM35609 MT07 RM36795 HLY even raise the price aft z650 announced, like they give a damn. sure do ymh have a lot of supporters here. I think they dont even care making ABS as an option for MT07. z650 has ABS, slipper clutch, overall built and finishing seems better than the MT07 which has alot of plastics covering the tank, etc. |

TRK502 has fab looks for the asking price.
Massive fuel tank means this bike makes for an awesome commuter. I have always thought Benelli parallel twins are the best sounding of all. It screams almost like an inline 4, and does not sound hollow and lumpy like other parallel twins. Putting out 47 horses from 500cc is competitive. UNFORTUNATELY.... ... I have doubts about those 47 ponies when matched to the bike's 210kg dry weight. Add 20 litres of fuel, 3 litres of engine oil plus 2 litres of coolant, you're easily looking at 230+kg. Add in the weight of side boxes, top box plus luggage... yeah... I think that engine will struggle if you expect superior squirt-and-go acceleration to match the Multistrada-esque looks. NONETHELESS... ... it would still make a very decent commuter bike if you need to travel 60km every day to and from work. |

The Benelli Leoncino on the other hand might be a better application of that 500cc parallel twin.
A hell lot less weight would definitely let those 47 horses shine. That said though.... I just don't understand why the cinapeks refuse to use the 899 triple. Or why Benelli Malaysia refuses to bring in the TNT600 GT tourer with the fukking awesome, cross country capable 27-litre fuel tank, and adequate 86 horses to shift its 240kg all-up weight over long distances. It's a far better proposition than the TRK502. |

speaking of triple, the other day heard a mt09 pass by and thought it sounded like a car, the exhaust note there is a difference between 4inline and triple sound. most recorded youtube vid can't tell the difference, but these vids of dyno session by scorpion exhaust shows it clearly. check out the header sound of the new z900 with standard exhaust. compare it with a triple. |

QUOTE(basilisk @ May 9 2017, 09:39 PM) for my preference i will go for MT07, I'll go with the MT07 too. Caught my eye when i went bike shopping few months ago, but she'll have to wait; still in the process of getting used to riding, plus still on L.just ranting here, share some infos, and to create discussion in Msia, unless u r buying BMW, Ducati, it is impossible to test a bike... Read a few reviews comparing the MT07 against Z650, SV650 and Duke 690. Most said all were good bikes, with the MT07 being slightly favoured mostly. As for the one-up category MT09, it seems that Yamaha has slapped on an engine that outdoes the body, making it too easy to accidentally pop a wheelie. I've not ridden one but i think I'll give that a miss for now. The MT10 also pretty damn sweet, but at RM115....?! Think not |

You can select the sissy mode on the handlebar to cut power and let the traction control prevent you from doing anything stupid with the throttle.I almost bought this bike.... until I found out it has a puny 14-litre tank to feed the thirsty 850cc engine. That was a deal breaker for me coz I needed to do some serious commuting with the bike (my youthful weekend hero ratah korner antics are long behind me). |

On the topic of MT07, i understand the local models don't come equipped with ABS, ....is the ABS really gonna make a big difference? Some researchers in Australia think that ABS makes a 30 percent difference to your chances of an accident on a motorcycle.

Are you really going to go for it? May I ask why naked/standard? A lot of people go for naked/standard nowadays instead of sportsbike. I do not understand. Can you explain. Is it the riding position? If it is because of riding position why not cruiser then? |

QUOTE(basilisk @ May 4 2017, 06:06 PM) Benelli, chances of getting a lemon is much higher maybe i will choose the CB500X anyday....the competitor is CB500X, Trk502 if not mistaken has ABS as standard. price is RM28888, +gst is ~RM30621 cb500x abs + gst is RM35391 only less than 5k difference. Weight, TRK502 is 235kg wet, cb500x is 194kg wet full tank. ![]() ![]() |
