QUOTE(basilisk @ May 9 2017, 03:15 PM) over here is Msia, after gst price, not OTR Z650 RM35609 MT07 RM36795 HLY even raise the price aft z650 announced, like they give a damn. sure do ymh have a lot of supporters here. I think they dont even care making ABS as an option for MT07. z650 has ABS, slipper clutch, overall built and finishing seems better than the MT07 which has alot of plastics covering the tank, etc. QUOTE(ciwi1166 @ May 9 2017, 07:50 PM) than up to you la which one u prefer... so far have not seen z650 otr yet. maybe u can buy one and review.. QUOTE(Mikahl @ May 9 2017, 11:25 PM) I'll go with the MT07 too. Caught my eye when i went bike shopping few months ago, but she'll have to wait; still in the process of getting used to riding, plus still on L. Fiddled around both Z650 and MT07 last month at GT Max Shah Alam. I'll go for Z650. Personal preferences. Better sitting position than MT07. Read a few reviews comparing the MT07 against Z650, SV650 and Duke 690. Most said all were good bikes, with the MT07 being slightly favoured mostly. As for the one-up category MT09, it seems that Yamaha has slapped on an engine that outdoes the body, making it too easy to accidentally pop a wheelie. I've not ridden one but i think I'll give that a miss for now. The MT10 also pretty damn sweet, but at RM115....?! Think not |

QUOTE(WTFisLYN @ May 11 2017, 12:21 PM) Are you really going to go for it? May I ask why naked/standard? A lot of people go for naked/standard nowadays instead of sportsbike. I do not understand. Can you explain. Is it the riding position? If it is because of riding position why not cruiser then? Just drooling But, if the 'itchiness' grows... I'll just get one Z650. As for cruiser... IF Honda bring in Rebel 500... guarantee I'll be the first customer to buy it. |

QUOTE(ZZR-Pilot @ May 11 2017, 06:32 PM) No, folks going for naked/standard bikes is *NOT* a new phenomenon. Naked bikes have always had a good following. Of course, the term 'naked' only became widespread in the last 10 or so years. 'Naked' is the original style of motorcycles (classic bikes are all 'naked' bikes until folks started modifying them into cafe racers which evolved into fully faired sportsbikes). Naked bikes in the form of UJMs were very popular since way back through models like the Kawasaki Zephyrs, the Honda CBs and the Suzuki GS bikes. Those who can't imagine what UJMs look like, all you have to do is imagine the old police bike without the front windshield - those were CB750-P, part of the Honda CB family of UJMs which culminated in the popular CB400 VTEC (loads in SG) and the CB1300. Of course, fully faired sportsbikes eventually outshined everything else because this genre became the first in line to directly benefit from whatever technology that came out of racing. That said, even back then there were already lots of people stripping fully faired sportsbikes into naked bikes, and these were known as 'streetfighters' that combined the punch of sportsbikes with the wide bars and upright position of UJMs. The 1990s saw loads of those early watercooled and cradle framed GSXR750/GSXR1100 being converted into stuntable streetfighters (the new Yamaha MTs are a modern interpretation of these classic hooligan wheelie/burnout bikes). Meanwhile, over in the US 'naked' bikes were already popular in the guise of Harley XR flat trackers made for oval clay racetracks. Harley Sportsters are a direct descendant of these, and those are naked too. Anyway... custom-made streetfighters eventually gave way to what people call 'naked' bikes today. A cruiser's riding position is not like that of a naked bike. The former is made for cruising, with low footpegs that let you stretch out your legs for easy laid back riding. The latter's riding position allows for a more nimble bike that's more suited for urban traffic. |

QUOTE(HaiiSuan @ May 11 2017, 11:44 PM) naked bike position is the middle ground between cruiser and sport riding position. Rebel 500 more than enough for me. nimble enough for spirited riding and relaxed enough for normal riding. rebel 500 using cb500 engine. much puny can make aeon loan and the price is competitive during its release. |

QUOTE(D'cruise61 @ May 12 2017, 10:09 AM) Then another alternative to consider is the Vulcan S650 which is a good bike for easy riding and pack more torgue than Rebel 500. Price wise is almost similar to the Rebel. Vulcan S too long. Test ride it before. But for truly long distance QUOTE(lowpro @ May 12 2017, 10:19 AM) Is the Rebel 500 sold here? Hmmm, anyone test rode the Harley Davidson Street Rod yet? Just curious how it is vs the Triumph Street Cup Sadly no. QUOTE(D'cruise61 @ May 12 2017, 10:29 AM) No new yet as to whether Boon Siew will be bringing it in or when it will be brought in. The rebel 500 is direct competition to the Vulcan S from Kawasaki. QUOTE(skyblu3 @ May 12 2017, 02:12 PM) No rumours at all. As usual, BS too slow to bring in anything 'good' QUOTE(D'cruise61 @ May 12 2017, 02:48 PM) Rebel 500 I'll still go for Rebel 500 Engine 471cc 45hp 190kg with 11L tank Engine taken from CB500 series Price : RM35k upward? Vulcan S 650 Engine 649cc 56hp 220kg with 14l tank Engine from Versys Price : RM32k [attachmentid=8810753][attachmentid=8810753] QUOTE(ZZR-Pilot @ May 12 2017, 03:57 PM) Some do like cruisers, especially short ppl. My fiancee is drooling over the Vulcan S right now. Heck, in the early 90s, almost EVERYBODY rode the XV535 cruiser to get their B licence. I do... Virago 535? Who says Msians don't like cruisers? |

QUOTE(basilisk @ Aug 24 2017, 11:53 AM) harley davidson's effort to sell more bikes to the younger generation - recently launched a new line up of hd bikes. Looks promising, but if it ever lands on our shores, the price would be prohibiting... and the 2018 fatbob is the bike tht they r pushing hard right now. many ppls reaction on social media.. QUOTE(basilisk @ Sep 23 2017, 07:07 PM) msia no market one.. even vietnam got more bike choices than here, new mt09 vietnam got.. here.. .. ? when.. ? yamaha oredi lame @ marketing, oni now they give xsr700 to usa.. here?.. They already control the market... no matter what, they don't feel any need to compete. All of this thanks to AP system by government. We 'commoners' can't import any bike that we like ourselves. QUOTE(ciwi1166 @ Sep 23 2017, 08:33 PM) Boons Siew - controlled by older gen. Too slow like a dinosaur. |

QUOTE(ciwi1166 @ Sep 23 2017, 11:36 PM) i noticed only kawasaki is quite aggressive with their marketing, holding bike test sessions and roadshows. Yah, I've been to 3 Kawa test ride already. Tempted to get Z650 As for Honda, I've been trying to get a test ride for Rebel 500 for ages. Had been calling Welly Subang many times. The bike still not ready for test ride. Yet Honda brag in their FB that it's available for test ride from 1st Sept This post has been edited by haturaya: Sep 23 2017, 11:49 PM |

Welly Subang has it before, but when I contact them, the bike was not there anymore. They said it will come back. That was 7-8 days ago. Perhaps you should go there and check.. if they allow.. |

I already sat on Rebel at Art of Speed, I know how it looks like, etc. Just want to test ride. They (Honda representative) told me it will be available for test ride at selected dealer (confirmed by Welly boss). QUOTE(basilisk @ Sep 25 2017, 12:17 PM) i duno, honda chicken never gave any concrete answer to fb when ppl ask bout test bike, The test ride poster IS at Welly Subang. It's even on Honda official FB. It says test ride bike available from Sept 17 to Nov 17 n " sam welly" also never post any test ride or test bike on fb.. maybe they dont want many ppl to go there joyride, and honda oso never sanction any official test ride, jz pass the buck to the dealer.. dealer oso don wana do many " no biz " work... maybe if u like sifoo otai ajaibman go there ask they will let u test ride... i think if just minnow looking fler.. .. go there ask they will say don have test bike ler.. .. |

QUOTE(redjol @ Sep 25 2017, 07:39 PM) How much downpayment you guys usually put for big bike? And from which bank u guys usually apply loan? QUOTE(ajaibman @ Sep 26 2017, 09:52 AM) Usually starting from 20 to 30 % from Banks.... Sometime, personal loan is cheaper and less hassle. If from Finance company can go from 0% however, the interest rate will kill you (At the end you pay either double or triple of your bike price) Banks providing loan for Big Bike.. (from my knowledge) 1. Maybank 2. Al Rahji 3. Bank Islam* Finance company providing loan for Big Bike 1. Aeon Credit 2. BSNC 3. BMW Credit** 4. Some Koperasi out there*** *= You need at least a GLC employee or Govt Servant **= Mostly for BMW Motorrad Bike however they did for other brand as well you can check with your sales. ***= Some of them are scam .. better avoid.. QUOTE(ciwi1166 @ Sep 26 2017, 10:10 AM) cash is king. as with any loan, the more downpayment, the better. Cash talks nowadays got many finance institutions / tools to help apply for loan, but later cannot maintain monthly & maintenance. that's why now got so many sambung bayar bikes, which is actually illegal. |
