Important: HelloGold App Updates

user posted image

Hello!

We’ve got some important news to share! In line with our commitment to continuously improve our platform to serve you better, we’ll be making some changes to the way prices are displayed on the HelloGold app.

First, it’s important to know why we’re making these changes. It has become clear to us that our customers struggle to compare our prices against other gold providers in the market. You told us it should be easier; we heard you and now we’re making changes.

This change will ensure you’re able to directly compare HelloGold’s competitive prices against other merchants without any manual maths and complexities. In addition to that, as we offer HelloGold services to more savers beyond the region, it’ll allow us to work with more bullion suppliers.

Second, this feature update will affect several areas within the app. Here’s what you can expect:

1. Gold prices will be displayed as ‘buy price’ and ‘sell price’. This will be a single and final value.
2. The value of the gold you own will be displayed according to its selling price.

These changes will be implemented with the launch of our next update in July. As these improvements require a rebuild of certain parts of our system, you will need to update your HelloGold app upon the release to continue using it smoothly. So if you face any difficulties accessing your app, check your store for updates.

We’re excited about this update and can’t wait to see you grow your savings with better prices and an improved experience!

hmm.gif looking at the wordings describing it....

1. Gold prices will be displayed as ‘buy price’ and ‘sell price’. This will be a single and final value.
2. The value of the gold you own will be displayed according to its selling price.

thus i think, whatever cost will already be added into the buy price...

hmm.gif will this buy price be the price of the physical gold too or that is just "HG paper gold" price?

I guess the buy price should be paper gold while behind the scene they brought the gold and only if user redeem it, comes the physical gold with extra charge.
Or hellogold can add another line of word to identify amount (can be in range/estimate) for sell and/or redeem physical gold.

thumbsup.gif to me, that is much better than the last time, where one has to be aware of all other "hidden" charges....

this RM11 is equivalent to how many % spread?

If invest RM 100, only get 0.397g gold, let say want 4% gain, we need to sold the gold at RM 261 (compare to current selling price RM 240), the gold need to boom up RM 21 to achieve the target.

Maybe the gold price will shoot up in short term period, who knows biggrin.gif

240 to 261 = 21 increases = 8.75% increases from 240
"say want 4% gain, we need to sold the gold at RM 261"
if wanted gain is 4%, then the spread is only 4.75%?

is that calculation of the spread % correct?

hmm.gif if that calculation is correct, i think the 4.75% spread is much lower than previously posted....
thus may i suggest, before making the decision to invest or not, try to calculate the spread % again. notworthy.gif

he mentioned .... "If invest RM 100, only get 0.397g gold, let say want 4% gain, we need to sold the gold at RM 261 (compare to current selling price RM 240), the gold need to boom up RM 21 to achieve the target."

thus he just wanted 4% gain out of RM100 investment...that is just RM 4 gain
RM261 from RM240 is RM21 gain. from this gain of RM21 he will make RM4 (4% gain from the RM100 he invested)...
thus the spread is RM17.
for every RM100....is 17% ....that is way too much....

anyway, you need to counter check my calculation
also maybe he agar agar / mis projected the buy and sell price ...

i think the previous mentioned is abt 10% spread for HG...

yes, if convenient is what you wanted and accept the % of spread between buy, sell and holding it long term.
