HelloGold currently does not buy back gold for two reasons. 1) we are not able to verify the integrity of the gold bar after it leaves our control and the control of our vaulting agent as we do not have assaying facilities at this point. 2) our business is able to offer our customers a narrow spread because we hold 1kg bars and not smaller bars - if we hold bars of smaller weightage, it would increase our costs and we would have to pass that onto our customers.

let's do a simple example, i buy and sell on a back to back basis, with premium of 10% and fee of 0.79%, market price RM200/g. I buy 1g of gold.
So, my total payable purchase price would be:

200 + (200 x 10%) +  (200 x 0.79%)
= 200 +20 +1.58
= 221.58

Right?
Let's say i sell immediately and no price movement:

My sales proceeds (my receivable) would be:

200 + (200 x 10%) - (200 x 0.79%)
= 200 +20 -1.58
= 218.42

Right?

How to close HelloGold account?

Hi Lowyat forumer,

This is my current experience with HG. from the screenshot you can see I bought RM 1 gold @ price RM 212.86/gram

I check out today price is 241.50/g which is a nearly 30 ringgit up per gram.

Why when I sell i only get back RM 0.96? Is my math got problem?
