Have you done TA before? If yes, this only to brief the position and the hiring manger want to talk to you, discuss about the project, salary, etc.
Nothing much.

Hi,

I found that this forum very useful for PETRONAS people. Ive been reading through this forum from the start of my recruitment process up until now hehe.. Thank you so much to all the Seniors. Really appreciate it. If not i might be wondering around thinking on how to pass the interview hehe.

I just want to share my recruitment process experience.
Apply DiscoverPETRONAS: early April 2013
Phone interview: end of June 2013
Declaration form: 11 July 2013
Structured interview: 29 July 2013
Result/contacted by HR: 30 July 2013 (the next day of SI)
Medical checkup:15 August 2013
Offer letter: 20 August 2013
Report duty/PIPE: 2 September 2013

I'm grateful that my recruitment process didn't took so long. The most important thing is be patient and keep up to date with the job hunter. And don't forget to pray a lot! InsyaAllah everything will be good =)

I'm going to start my new journey at PETRONAS very2 soon. Hopefully this is the best for me.

Btw im refering to HR representative.. His name is arif.. I think its better if u keep up to date with the person who contact u instead of calling hr people randomly.. Bcoz the one who contact u is the responsible person who will arrange everything.. Hope this will help u =)

Hi, ya i am actually their sponsored student and just completed my studies. So your friend told you that most of the fresh grads will be getting their offers in September? By the way I am in technical field hmm.gif

Mathematically tough, philosophically hard, logically hard... or takes alot of mental strength and confidence?

Coz I thought of applying after my exam. blush.gif

Thanks.

Loll for fresh graduates i think you dont have to expect any specific technical questions but it's better to know more about the current issues and stuffs cause I think you will be given a case study and role-play assignment. Of course confidence will give you extra points too. good luck ! thumbup.gif

Hi,

it's not a normal interview, it's a chit chat session, but the questions asked is similar to structured interview, i've been asked to write an essay "briefly describe the situation you questioned your values and/or beliefs"

and after that the manager asked me to introduce myself (family, schools, universities, qualification, experiences, etc.) if you have experiences, you have to describe ur job, role and pls be careful wif whatever you put in the CV, they will ask.

She also brief me about the job offered, environment, how it works, her expectations me and bla bla bla (which is quite interesting)

Other than that, ur perceptions abt PETRONAS, ur hope, where are u in 2-3 years from now and many more questions...the session took about 75 minutes to finish.

But now, i have to wait for 2-3 weeks whether they will shortlist me for structured interview or just forget about my dream to work with PETRONAS.

That's all for today.. icon_rolleyes.gif icon_idea.gif

Bro azraeil,i see that you're well versed in oil & gas company especially petronas.I really want join oil & gas industries but from what i've observe, they seldom hire someone with intermediate experience (<1 years) or freshie . Any advice?
*
PETRONAS hires a ton of fresh graduates (less than 1 year can be considered fresh grads also). Now, they mostly concentrate in hiring those who they send on the study loan/scholarship so these students/people will be priority 1. Once they have exhausted these supply and if there are still positions open, then they will look for other fresh grads obviously. If getting in after your graduation is difficult (due to the lack of open positions), then ply your trade elsewhere first and once you get the 3-4 years experience, you can try again for a position in Petronas as an experienced hire.

I have 2 brothers who just joined Petronas, one is a fresh grad (scholar) and another with 6 years of working experience. Anything is possible.

Hi Bro Azraeil,

Appreciate if you could advise me on this.

I have received an invitation to attend an interview from PCSB for the position of Senior Geoscientist.

According to the HR, it is a direct hire contract employment. And if I pass the technical assessment and are recommended for a permanent position, then only a structured interview will be conducted.

My concern is after the two years contract, how likely PCSB will absorb a contract worker to be a permanent one? And do you have any idea why SI is so important to hire a permanent staff?

Thanks a lot.
