anyone do internship in petronas?

Hye,
May I know usually how long does HR Petronas take to process application (through Discover Petronas site) ?

and also, if a friend want to change department in Petronas and he has to seek his own replacement (external or internal, since he has been asking our friends to submit resume) , will the interview process be quicker?

my case, apply via discover on jan 2013, interview on june 2013...

i heard whatever it is, must use the discover site - that was HR policy...buat not 100% sure..

wahh have to wait so lama! I really wanna join Petronas.. I guess I should then take whatever job offer I have now, at the same time still wait for call from Petronas for the interview or whatever? *sigh*

Which department are u in in Petronas? Was the interview(S) tough?

If I'm not mistaken those who failed their SI will be banned for two years. But if PCSB would like to conduct SI with you, don't bother PDB anymore, just go straight to PCSB and be well prepared this time.
P/S: PCSB might ask you whether you have been through any of Petronas assessment before. Pandai-pandai jawab.

I use to have the similar mindset during my studies years. But once i'd started working with them, I'd realized that there are some whom posses capabilites far beyond our reach. Don't generalized bumi as a so called puppets in an organization. For them to come up to that level, they too have their skill and competence. Yes they have earn my respect. If there's one bumi boss whom you clarify acts as a boss and does nothing then who is the boss? clearly the one in charge behind sure cannot tahan and resign due to underpay and overworks. Please change your mind set. everyone of us is human. we are no different from earning a bowl of rice. Difference might be on the amount. If you're good a company is willing to hire you with large sum of money regardless of position. At the end of the day, its completing the job till the deadline that counts. So don't be a stereotype.

Yes . Noted about their procedures for unsuccessful candidates . My question here is , why are they still contacting me after I failed for SI ? Is other department still can offer to conduct interview with me ?

i'm a UTP grad student, and applied through discover petronas. about 3 months already but they didn't call. my friend said that they are focusing on the petronas scholared students first.

Petronas HR is just a slow poke. My brother who was a Petronas scholar had to wait until 5 months after he returned before they called for an SI. I had to intervene and used my network to prod these slow pokes before he got called. Nothing moves an HR faster than receiving an enquiry email from an SGM. They act like mice with a cat growling behind their ass. It took another 6 weeks before they came up with the offer letter ... my brother finally reported for duty yesterday. After 7 bulan menganggur. Now this is a Petronas scholar doing geosceince with 3.75 CGPA .... I have the mind to smack these slow pokes.

indeed. even one of my friend recommended through SI, got call from Petronas for availability, and its already almost two months, she still didn't receive her offer letter. seems like a Mara scholared student like me don't have a chance to start up my career with Petronas.

is it a good place to start your OnG career or should i wait for another company doing upstream business?

You should accept it as Petronas is one of the best workplace to gain experiance. You need to decide fast or you will lose the oppurtunity while waiting for other company.
