QUOTE(shervink @ Nov 18 2012, 11:29 PM)
Hi All,

I recently got a job offer letter from Petronas Carigali for 3 years contract in Kuala Lumpur. My position is Senior Planning Engineer and the interview was held in September in Istanbul. Right now I am in the middle of a relocation process to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. During the interview the HR told me that the recruitment process will take between 3-6 month because I am an expat engineer and they have to provide work visa for me!!

I have already submitted my medical tests by DHL to Petronas two weeks ago and still waiting to receive my contract and visa. For your information the SOFOMATION recruitment agency is responsible to provide candidates for opening job positions at Petronas. As I undrestood during the interview Petronas Carigalli is looking for 2000 qualified engineers with more than 10 years experience in different disciplines such as planning engineer, cost control, civil structure, drilling, mechanical engineer, Pipeline engineer,....

I really appreciate it if anyone provide me some info about the work environment of Petronas Carigali and other necessary informations.

Thank You
Shervin

If you read through the thread you'll get an idea about the working environment. You'll enjoy working in Malaysia. I wish I could work in Malaysia but then again, I will not be earning expat salary like what I am earning now.

Be patient and follow all the necessary process. The visa processing will take time as Petronas will need the necessary approvals from the the relevant ministries. Do not tender your resignation until everything is finalized.

No reason was given at all. But I know other than me, at least 3 more ppl from my batch were informed about the same thing.

Now, waiting for the HRs to clarify and confirm.

UPDATE: Mine has been confirmed that it is postponed. They better don't change their mind 1 week later.

Ok. That is not a good new. I still not receive any info about the delay.

Those are under "acceptable risk" if your are familiar with health and safety risk management systems. If it was unacceptable, they wouldnt be operating in such a manner but people who work in any industry should know there is no such thing as "No risk", the difference would be the likelihood and severity of the risk components involved.

Thanks Azraeil for the info and advise. I am so happy to have this wonderful opportunity to working in Malaysia for Petronas. Are you currently working at Haliburton?biggrin.gif

I have another questions, what about training? Does the Company provide training for new employees during their contract?

Ciao
