not just sharing my experience but from many who i know, Shell fuel "vaporate" faster than any other fuel. i can get at least 30km-50km more mileage on other fuel than Shell on every full tank i pumped.

i'm observing the fc on my car with shell fuel vs petronas fuel. let's see....

Fuel consumption can't be totally same

1. Road condition
2. Weather temperature
3. Wind resistance
4. Driving style
5. Petrol used ( i believe diff petrol station even same brand will give different mileage )
6. Tyre pressure ( no one can know whether the pump was right or not )
7. Weight carry
8. Engine oil condition

But FC should be in a expected range.
*
agree, just the how you fill up the tank itself is already enough to make a difference. if the driving parameter are similar then we can expect some minor deviation. i use app to track my fuel up so the fc reported will be pretty accurate.

just want to share my Axia G AT Fc
i drive slowly light foot, gearbox like to shift to higher gear even at 50kmh i can feel at 4th gear with torque convertor lockup, rpm 1600, never above 2000rpm, town FC 13-14km/l
but...
my wife drive it, same routine... from 13km drop to 10km/l.. so if reset the meter, might below 10km/l...
she feels the car not moving when AC kick in, then she prss more gas, gearbox drop gear, eco light goes off.. drink more petrol
*
on bezza 1.3, the earliest the lock up can happen is around 48kph ish.... it requires you to be light footed. and the rpm will fall below 1500rpm and it feels like a cvt car.

Anyone has any idea the Bezza Auto Premium X's car battery can lasts how long?

Prior before this i drove a manual car and my car batt normally can lasts me almost 2 years since i only drive to work and sometimes going out on weekend. Very seldom do night driving.

My Bezza already more than 1 year now. I went up to Cameron Highland once. So i am getting a little worried should i change it now or wait another few months.

I know this is a subjective question. But i just want to know the estimate lifespan of a car battery in an auto car since this is my first auto car.
*
check your battery water, refill it. observe any anomalies like cranking sound less oomph.

QUOTE(Goodboy92 @ Aug 16 2018, 10:57 AM)
Heard fastest was 1.5year and no refill battery water
Mine 1year 22000km till now no problem , grab frequent start stop ( else very drain petrol )
Sometime once I stop the car then within 1min got job come in , start again ( less customer area )
I checked my battery water last month still full.
Original battery last longer

I see an article say once your off over 1min it will save more fuel compare to cost of repair , that was I think Australia article , fuel price different , but sometime can be >10min no beep , so I also don't know la , 10min start car also no good , if I wait few min. maybe right after I close then beep I never again , so I choose to off once I found a good stopping spot. Some people like to on their car even 30min or more, actually bad for engine ( build carbon deposit )
Sometime I don't off if I don't feel to , most of the time was women say 5min then  yawn.gif
*
for bezza advance, it need to stop for at least 5 second, else might as well don't do start stop at all. regarding the cost saving aspect side of things, it takes a very detailed calculation to make a number sense out of it.

only Advance version possible

Better call perodua center was it safe to cont drive, they might recommend towing

Go check error code as fast
*
yup, it happened to my car yesterday. it is so advance until the level that all the warning lights are gone one by one after two time of restart, until now the MIL indicator is gone and nothing pops up. Everything back to normal. No wonder its called Bezza "advance". It has fast regenerating capability. laugh.gif

the best part that sc told me this morning when i walk in is.... "sorry boss, tak cukup orang la minggu ni, ambik cuti dah, next monday je la boss". I can't make a scene out of it because there's nothing wrong with my car at that moment, no MIL no nothing, even eco idle is working perfectly and nicely. laugh.gif

Hi Guys, is it advisable to change to maintenance-free battery for Bezza Advance existing water battery?
*
so long you replace a M42 battery that meant for "start and stop" application then it is OK.
There's an old believe that battery that requires you to top up water is a tat better than the ones that is so called maintenance free. But i have no proof on such saying though. I just believe that a battery that is shielded away from heat will have a longer life compared to those that always subjected to heat (applicable for Malaysia driving condition).

Yours just need to plug in computer to read the code to know what wrong.
Outside mechanic can do it as long they have the computer , if you have close friend or relative , just plug and read like reading pendrive file lols.

Try other sc then , I really hate sc who scare customer complaint yet promising this and that warranty. I mean those upper or the company are not putting much effort on this. Not the service center as they aim for profit , the control still need to done by Perodua.

I also called before go, they will say you come early morning no need book ( just for claim no services ) , then the counter recognize 2 thing when receive car only 1 done ( I show him the exact location and problem , an easy solve ) . Even when I service they ask me what problem , I tell 4 in the phone he only understand 2 and solve 1. They don't intend to solve problem. This will actually reduce their profit as the time and effort was used in solving a not profitable thing. ( yet want to sell extra thing to customers )

What to do lols , only can spend more time and wait.

But yours should be just the system goes wrong abit , as it actually happen on quite a lot of Proton car haha

Update my suspension no more sound till now after retighten
Mechanical side only left aircond still got whistle sound
Other very very minor plastic sound can't be avoid ( understandable )
A lot car making improvement still need though.
*
I direct went to perodua own sc, other scs are just perodua authorized sc and i don't have confident in them especially when it come to handle claims and problem diagnosis, not to mention their scale of resources. Perodua own sc able to get things done in a faster manner. And they are the largest in terms of size and resources at place i stay.

yeah, i did it with my el cheapo obd reader and it returns an error about "Lost Connection to BCM". Which is quite unlikely as the problem gone after two restarts. I suspect it maybe due to the battery low voltage the moment the car starts thus causing the issue. So it explains the eco idle light flashing (indicating the battery is low charge).

talk about battery, a friend of mine who drives bezza advance changed his battery to ordinary NS40 battery since March and that battery is still surviving now! Kinda amazing that the battery survives. Of coz, it come at the expense of the eco idle is permenantly "off" (he need not off the eco idle) as the battery amperage unable to enable the eco idle into standby mode. if that battery able to survive 1.5 years, then it should be a good deal i think.

well if eco idle off then it should able to operate using normal battery.
*
let him be the lab rat first. hehehe..... per battery advisory, the battery replacement should be same type whenever we perform replacement. As bezza advance's alternator is slightly different (It is evident when you look at the alternator model number on bezza X vs Bezza advance).

If bezza advance is just simply put in eco idle start stop function without any other high end stuff (like the alternator), then we should be safe to use normal NS40 battery as well. that is the theory though

Guy, i using petron 97 for bezza 1.3x. Fuel consumption show 16km/h. Total full tank can last for around 480km ( Still have last bar). Driving 80% highway, 20% city. Do anyone have similar fuel consumption? I believe it is a freaking incredible fuel saver car where my previous avanza need to pump in rm80 for full tank while bezza only around rm70 for same travel distance and working day.
*
some say shell 95 also not bad. the very first tank i fill up for my car is shell 95. i travelled 80% highway 10% federal road 10% city drive. and the onboard computer returns 18.3km/l, and my car is fully loaded 4 adults 1 toddler. boot is equally fully loaded as well. tyre pressure is 250kpa per factory recommendation.

i don't have chance yet to have another highway run, if i do it again then i will evaluate it again as well.

From my understanding, higher ron is for higher compression ratio engine to avoid knocking. So it would makes sense to me that turbo engine require it as they take in more air.
Thats why high performance car has higher ron requirement.

RON 97 for me would travel more distant with more power, if calculate by distant per price, it would come out same with RON 95.
That was before when RON95 & RON97 has weekly fluatuating
Prices. Now the RON95 price is fixed it would be much more cheaper driving RON95.

But i always thought RON97 should run engine colder, this i really need to do more reasearch.
*
usually you get more active ingredients in RON97 fuel compared to RON95 fuel, and nowadays our RON97 are Euro4 standard which is lesser sulphur content. though it doesn't direct related to performance but it is linked to emission and probably some characteristics in terms of engine performance.

and yeah, higher compression engine requires higher ron fuel, bezza CR is 11.5 which is pretty higher for a port injection NA engine. even serena hybrid DI engine is doing 11.2 CR. Bezza engine surely tuned for RON95, i do believe it should be perform better with RON97 (like you seen on Honda Insight, tuned for RON95, performs better with RON97), as you get lesser chance of knocking. And i personally think that the "higher RON fuel = hotter engine" is somewhat related to the anti knocking characteristic, when an engine lesser knocking, the engine timing can be optimized to achieve their ideal timing hence more power, conservation of energy tells you that when you get more power from your engine, meaning the combustion is stronger hence it is hotter, given the fact that our engine is around 35% thermal efficiency, imagine 65% of poer goes to heat, will that make engine hotter? i think the answer would be a yes.

If the extra mileage gain from RON97 able to cover the deficit of price then it surely a good deal.

You got a good point there... Didnt know 11.5 CR was consider high for RON95...
If thats the case then it would means that the engine is tuning down fuel mixture to avoid knocking. So RON97 should get the full performance of this engine.

I have never tried RON97 since i own the car... Will try few tanks later and compare a bit.
*
no bro, i mean the compression ratio of bezza engine, which is 11.5:1 is very high for a port injection Natural Aspirated engine. The serena which use direct injection only doing 11.2:1, which is 0.3 lesser than bezza. Of course, mazda skyactive petrol engine are the champion of all time by having 14:1 compression ratio for a natual aspirated engine. I think with proper combustion chamber & exhaust manifold design it should be ok to bring the compression ratio to be higher. However that was in theory when the combustion chamber is clean i.e no carbon and the fuel is free from contamination like bro jtan mentioned. i agree his point that modern engines are lesser prone to knocking as the timing will be handled by ecu to reduce knocking, however it will also make the engine to perform in a lower power state. as the timing is reatrded to prevent knocking.

usually timing retard happens when the engine is hot, like when you trapped in traffic jam and you are crawling slowly. It is retard the timing when knocking is present, if knocking keep on happens, meaning the timing compensation is not enough to taper off the knocking activities and this is the time you should look after your engine, it could be spark plug, it could be carbon deposit, it could be fuel contamination, it could be fuel filter etc...... sometimes to solve a problem on an engine is easy, but sometimes its not.
