Thanks to me not playing much if at all, on WiiU, am enjoying it too much. I bring my Switch everywhere I go now just to complete a cup, a time trial and playing online.

Currently hunting Gold kart parts.

Had play sessions with Aussies last night, very solid connection between 8-12 players. Already not liking the whole scramble nature of the game, if you're stuck in the middle of the pack, you're stuck there, period. Only when you break away to the top 3-4 is when you won't get bombarded with shells left and right. Maybe I treat it too much like a racing game....

Any of you guys tried multiplayer via the switch joycons only ? haha one of the reasons i am considering getting it is because my eldest daughter likes it.. and wondering what the experience is using the joycons when we wait for my wife to do her shopping (use case scenario that often happens lol)

Split JoyCons. I don't like them in the grip. I still prefer the Pro Controller over everything else.

Finally received my Switch after the stock reach on Saturday.

Anyone bought Switch from Playasia?

I'm playing it with joycons on handheld mode just fine. And the joycons with grip, not much issue. Grip might be a bit near apart, but once you get used to it no problem.

Oh i meant like split joycon.. each player with one side of the joycon

If like that a bit too small, manageable. Tried myself lol.
Even better if you can get this joycon grip, comes with silicon cap for the analog.

The problem with JoyCons on grip or on the Switch itself is that the back is flat, there's nothing to grasp for comfort. With split JoyCons your palm and fingers wrap around the JoyCons providing a comfortable grip itself. If you've played Switch as much as I do on long extended period of time, you'll see what I mean by comfort. If you're just playing "for fun" or "short bursts", by all means, use whatever config you like.

Inb4 "buy JoyCon silicone covers or hard cases that adds bumps at the back for comfort". Silicone covers attracts dust over time and with finger and palm grease, it'll get worse. And buying covers for JoyCons just shows that either Nintendo didn't think about palm grip comfort or didn't think about comfort usage over extended period of time.

I've played MK8D over 8 hours nonstop and Zelda BOTW well over 10-16 hours with small breaks in between (the hours in the Parental Control app can prove it) and it's either split JoyCons or the Pro Controller for me.

It all depends on ur comfort level and hand size.
Also if you have 3d printer, saw a couple of templates for grip design. Some cool and wacky one's.
