10. don't want to waste money on phone every 2-3 years
11. dont care to be hipster with iphone x or note 8 (i love note 8 stylus/xiaomi quick ball features though)
12. one handed mode when needed as i have small hands
...
1) is future security update important or we can download those anti virus app to substitute?
2) should i wait for P3 and/or buy P2 then?
Once you are interested to go for Android apps development, Google Pixel or Xiaomi Mi A1 should be in the list... But of course, we can get any Android smartphone and bake AOSP ROMs to be as close as Pixel or Android One devices... I suggest to wait next year as many "affordable" Android One devices (less than RM1,500) will emerge in the market... Another benefit owning pure Android devices is the long term updates of the OS... But the battery capacity may hinder this intention after like 18 months ownership... Most probably need to change the stock battery for a fresh new one...my phone is to prioritize to up my productivity.

Security updates and patches is critical if there is a catastrophic effect to the device and data breached. Android Pay, mobile banking, smart home apparatus, and other security implementation will be at risk if no proper patches are done periodically... criminals are everywhere and thinking that we are not the prime Target is simply "ignorance".
P3 is still MIA... My hypothesis of 2-year cycle for the P-series remains true at this juncture...
If I were you, I'll hold on to whatever I have and wait next year for more Android One offerings ... Else, can always get the second hand P2 model at 50% - 75% cost of SRP and re-sell it back after one week investigation...
P2 rear camera is great if we mounted it on a tripod, meaning steady hands is crucial when taking daylight and low light pix/vix... Front cam is just average at best suited its price bracket...
