Hi there.

Just wonder how does Lenovo P2 compare to Asus Send one 3 Zoom (http://m.gsmarena.com/asus_zenfone_3_zoom_ze553kl-8509.php) in terms of battery usage and performance.

Blackview is not sold here Malaysia. But can be imported online. Me no comment but as we all aware, MediaTek MT6750T is no match to the Snap625...

Not just that, built in sensors are questionable....so as the front and rear cameras quality...

Me saw some Blackview P2 being sold here. It could be counterfeit, or original.

For someone who constantly traveling outdoor and camping, This caught my attention. . If only the battery is a little bigger...

Back to making decision again on which smartphone to get for replacement.

Should I
1) wait for Lenovo P3, rumor is it will be released within this year.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZ2Z2pgUfIo

or,

2) get this Asus Zenfone 4 Max ZC554KL
http://www.gsmarena.com/asus_zenfone_4_max_zc554kl-8749.php
instead?

I am a sucker for big ass battery. First phone is Lenovo P780 which comes with a 4000mAh battery (back then it was considered one of the smartphone with huge battery). And also travel a lot, so durability and battery are my main concern when getting a smartphone.

1) That video is a hoax. That came from Lenovo Phab 2 Pro promo.

2) Asus Zenfone 4 Max ZC554KL is the closest in terms of price but not performance. You can opt for Redmi Note 4 (Snap 625). Since you are travelling alot, if local within Malaysia, Redmi Note 4 should be OK. If abroad, check the Redmi Note 4 radio bands whether it supports all the relevant LTE bands to other countries; especially Band 20. P2 is popular in Europe because the 32GB variant supports Band 20 which most mid-tier devices fail to support. Don't get the 64GB China variant as out-of-the-box it does NOT support Band 20 LTE.
*
Don't care about the internal storage as it is better to leave it for system-files storage only. The lighter the internal storage, the better the unit performs. I store all my files on SD-card anyway.

As for traveling, it's mostly Asia, Europe for now. So I guess the 32GB version is handy for sim-card swapping.

In the meantime, waiting for the official release of Lenovo P3 might be a logical reason, since rumor has it the price of that phone is between MYR 1200-1500 which is within my budget.

As for phone case protection, has anyone tried these before?
This.
and
this?

I am a sucker for outdoor activity, hence the constant traveling, so gotta take good care of the phone.

Those casings are for extreme sports/lifestyle... not sure how it stacks up to its promises... the most important part to protect any smartphone is the screen... P2 is infamous for its delicate 5.5" screen... I suggest to install some sort of screen protector as minimum protection. Having both anti-shock casing and tempered glass is the optimum investment (rather than forking RM800 to replace broken Super AMOLED screen...)
Agreed. Tempered glass is much easier to replace compare to the screen, even thought it used Gorilla Glass.

Since you are living in an active lifestyle, CAT S41 should be on your next list....

Looks nice. Except for
1) 3GB RAM only.
2) Expandable storage up to 2GB only.
Anyway, know any dealer and its price in Malaysia?

And Mediatek Helio P20 SoC is a boner killer... this niche market model will never be sold by Malaysian dealers... imported online with dodgy warranty is the risk to be taken....

p/s : I believe it should be either 32GB or 200GB expandable storage... could be typo....
*
According to CAT offcial site,
Extended Storage microSD™ (up to 2TB)

In terms of performance, it will lose to most mid-range smartphone on the market due to the choice of CPU.
However, when it comes to durability of the phone and battery, it is a top contender among the other rugged-smartphone series.

Wonder if they issue international warranty since I might have found a dealer somewhere in Asia. hmm.gif

Will look into it later. In the meantime, how does Mediatek MT6757 Helio P20 compare to Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 in terms of performance.

Most MediaTek SoCs could not auto-focus when taking video... need to tap-to-focus...

My Lenovo Vibe Shot is having auto-focus issue when using the native camera apps. Open Camera solved the problem. Then again, the phone is aging fast in terms of performance and battery. Have to charge the phone 3 times per day now. Imagine that.

Did u guys experience lag on FB apps?
Facebook app is known for many issues: it drains battery fast like Homer Simpson in a all-you-can-eat buffet,
consumes a lot of data and hogs Storage. Facebook Lite is a good alternative without any bloated features.
Look for it on Google Play store. Or, just log into Facebook mobile site using the phone's web browser.

They never listen.... we need more energy for long term daily usage....

This badass came to mind.
It comes with a, get this, hot-swappable 6200 mAh Li-Ion battery pack for a smartphone.

Too bad there is no latest version on the market now.

Looks like P2 will be the last good Lenovo phone in M'sia.

Any user of Xiao Mi Max 2 here?
How is the phone?

It is safe to say Xiao Mi Max 2 is the P2 of Xiao Mi.
Same CPU, GPU, protection.

Still kinda sad to see Lenovo is being phased out here.

Max2 has better 12MP Sony IMX 386 camera...

You can wait for Max3 launching "soon" ...but then again, no AMOLED screen from Xiaomi...
*
Battery and performance ratio wise (and wallet), unless Moto releases a spiritual successor to Lenovo P2, Max2 is probably the only option now.

Upgrade version of CAT S60.
Why can't they put a bigger battery in it, is the question.
