Just came back from dinner and drink with a friend and she's using CIMB VI. I asked her to apply for AmBank VI and WMC instead.

I really don't see any benefit of keeping CIMB VI..

She probably keeps it cause it looks nice to her..
*
Nope. She got it due to her savings account. laugh.gif
She's very good in investment matters but not good in CC matters, so I taught her which cards to get. tongue.gif

I planning to cancel my wmc and apply for CIMB VI.
Beside dining privileges, it got 0.5% & 1.0% cash back for local and overseas spending which is good for those expenses that not covered by CIMB CB, PBB VS & M2C.
*
Then it's still not bad but she's using it for PPL, I asked her to apply for AmBank combo for PPL purpose.

Guys, my cc limit is just 5k. Can i topup cash into this card up until -6k so that total around rm11k. Coz i want buy flight ticket for around rm11k. Is it possible?
*
Yes, possible provided you still have RM 5k balance, else you gotta top up until RM 11k.

Side note: Flight tickets will not grant you any cash back using CIMB CR, just saying if you have intention to get cash back and using CIMB CR. smile.gif

Maybank doesn't allow overpayment. So, gotta use CDM to pay. Not sure about CIMB.

Just now you say possible, is it thru cimbclicks or cdm?
*
I said possible to top up but Maybank doesn't allow overpayment using M2U. Only CDM or Interbank transfer from other banks.
I hope this is clear to you. Safer approach is use CDM.

i tried auto debit RM 285 for astro. got less than one ringgit of rebate. means not even the 2%

have to manually pay astro even month online to get the 5%?
*
Auto-debit only for specific merchants, refer to first post, Astro is not in.

Yes, manual payment will get cash back.

then whats the point of auto debit?
*
For convenience I guess. I'm not a big fan of auto-debit, except for my GE insurance which I haven't found a way to pay manually every month with CC.

ok so this must have been caused by the change from HelloPay to AliPay that people have mentioned  sweat.gif
*
I bought something from Lazada yesterday and it showed AliPay page for a shot while before transferring me to UOB OTP page.
Anyway, I have stopped using CIMB CR for Lazada and Taobao. Too much of restrictions, too troublesome. laugh.gif

well you can still use CIMB CR, the only thing is to get your rebate you have to follow up with CRU/BNM and provide the screenshots  doh.gif
David83 if you insist in getting your rebate
*
Yeah, my time worth more than that. laugh.gif
Especially I have UOB YOLO and SCB JustOne, really too troublesome to see CIMB's mood.

Not sure CIMB Cash Rebate Platinum Card holder facing this issue or not..

I'm am using CIMB Cash Rebate Platinum card, statement date is 28 each month.
Cash rebate came out on 29.

Mostly i make payment on 1st or 2nd each month , during make payment i choose FULL PAYMENT (which is the amount i owe minus cash rebate), mana tau at the end kena financial charge reason is i pay not enough amount.

Call CS , CS say i should choose STATEMENT , else system will think i pay not enough ....... And CS say i should not deduct the Cash Rebate (Pay more ok la...pay less then the statement account sure will trouble)
*
Common issue here. Rule of thumb: For CIMB CR, pay full statement balance and not after deducting the cash back. CIMB doesn't treat cash back as payment.

DarReNz suggest to put this as reminder in first post, if you haven't done so.

Meaning.
Statement X
New swipe posted on the same date of the cash back posted or after it that you planned to clear (my practice is to clear outstanding ASAP) = Y

Payment amount by due date = X + Y or X and not X - CB
*
Oh, X+Y is total outstanding amount. tongue.gif

Then you shouldn't have manually deducted out the cash back. tongue.gif
I want to maximise the 20-day free interest period, so I will pay on due date. biggrin.gif
