Guys, my Redmi Note 4(SD) 32/3GB is currently on android 6.01 with MIUI 8.2.10.0(Global official) on top.

I'm not sure what's the most current update but should I update mine? Having no issue now if that helps.

latest version is 9.5.4.0 with android 7.0
luckily i don't face any problem for now.
some user has wifi problem.
some user don't bother with the update.
some user update it for the new features they offer.
if the phone has no issue and you satisfy with the current version, you can keep using it.

No problem but one thing annoys me when I could only see kotak once in a while. No latest emoji native support.

Any of you face after updating the Explorer lost the FTP function?

tap the triple line upper left, got the ftp button.

hmm. not sure about the kotak emoji. usually emoji from iphone i will see the kotak. or maybe while using browser.

yes. you're right. new android version usually got new emoji addon. 😅
and also redmi device popular with getting old device left with old android version and update their miui version only. is it possible with new miui version they added the new emoji? i'm not sure about this. :/

iirc you could but that involves rooting and modding something which is really too much works to put into and really inconvenient. Upgrading android is the much much simpler and logical solution.
Anyway modding is way beyond my time now.

It doesn't happen every time. Maybe a few times a week, if you use Waze twice a day. There seems to be no exact reproduction steps. One thing I've noticed, it's more likely to happen if you are using Waze, and actively switch around other apps, or accepting a voice call in the middle of Waze navigation. Once the voice call ends, Waze will be unable to lock on GPS for around 5-10 minutes. After a while, it works again. It's as if the GPS service has crashed, and MIUI takes some time to restart it.

I rarely use Waze because of that. Noticeably slower compared to Google Maps. I think it's down to developer support. Probably not optimised for Xiaomi. That's my guess.

maybe can wait others feedback.

Google seems started to "clamping" down on the custom ROMs, force the developers to comply with their standards and get approval... oh my...
