skip meal is a bad habit for dog nor a puppy.. so .. make sure u let him know the hour of having meal.. if you can't finish in 15 mins... then ur meal will be gone... no worry of ur dog will die because of hunger... usually a dog can survive without food longer than human...

this incident usually don't happen on new puppy, mayb they never expect human will give them food.... once the dog is familiar with the house.. and family.. he will take his time to eat slowly.. i see my friend dog.. the owner fill up the bowl.. and the dog never care it much.. when i ask why.. the owner say " he will take when he is hungry" .. this is not good.. ant .. fly... bad smell.. and etc ...

those jerhigh....very hard to chew one wor, so it takes long time to chew is it?? i try to give once to FIFI, she take long long time to chew, but still cannot chew, haha, and her hair all dirty, paw lah, mouth, and also the floor, got saliva and oil stain.

so after 3 mths can giv the heartguard every mth till the rest of his life rite.

I notice that FIFI also got 3 adult teeth growing together, at the front row of the lower jaw, makes her undershoot liao. Normal ah?? need to pull off or not??

To be more precise, heartworm prevention can be given to puppy after final jab provided they r under 6 months old.
If more than 6 months old, need to take blood test first. If result shown negative, then heartgard. If positive......then soli lah, treament need to be given.

oh its normal dat shihtzu has undershoot teeth.
normal normal. don worry.

so its better to giv them after the final vac lo. in case anything bad happen.. heartworm is some sorta worm in the heart is it? not those worms in the stomach wan ah.

My vet told me that after final vaccination, can feed our furkid heartgard every month so I feed every month on the 5th. After 1 year supply finishes, just take the yearly jab.

Yes, when dogs are bitten by mosquitoes,worms will travel and grow at the heart or stomach. There are many types of worms but generally one in the heart and another is the stomach.

The heartgard is for heart protection. Also the yearly vaccination.

The medicine for stomach worms are usualy a orange color liquid, also available in pills. If your doggy has worm in the stomach, he will lose appetite and stomach will be bloated. You should be able to see tiny white things in his poo. But if u suspect this is the case, please contact ur vet immediately.

The vet should be able to tell u result whether got stomach worm or not in ten minutes. I seen them work, termometer put in the doggy backside, take out and then put on a rectangular plastic, then drip some solution on it and let it determine (dont know how but they will tell whether got or not)

Oh.. if giv the heartguard monthly then no need to buy deworm tablet for the dog already isit?

as for the yearly heartguard do i still need to deworm the dog everymth?

the chances that dog staying outdoor will let misquito bite is very high so must give heartguard .
my friend's auntie rotweiler..got heartworm around 3 years old..pity the dog...

i wont let me dog stay outdoor.. coz hugo is small breed mah.. and i also got no outdoor for him. lol
