I place the newspaper on a tray, so wont dirty the floor. Then i place a piece on non-slip mat on top of the paper now. The pee on the newspaper wont soaked into the paper fast rite, so easy to kena the leg and splash on the floor. If got the non slip mat on top, not easy to kena leg, and beause got weight ontop of the paper, the paper wont fly again, and wont splash on the florr easily. For poo, if i notice FIFI wanna poo, I'll just place a piece of tissue below her but, let the poo drop on it, then pick up, buang.
If i din noticed her, still she will poo on the mat. But her poo hard mah, so wont stain the mat, just pick up, bungkus, then kasih buang..........
I wash and sun the mat every Saturday to keep it clean.
If FIFi is allowed to run free the house, she wont chew the newspaper. If i put her in the play pen, which is near the paper,although got 3 or 4 toys for her, she still will drag the paper in, then tear it, makan also.
If i put her in the play pen, then she poo in it, she will makan poo also. If outside, she wont.......
I think because she is boring, nothing to do.....so find special things to do.

i bought plastic toy shoes, jerhigh snacks, alpo snacks, rubber toys, kids' pacifiers.. they play wif them very often..but once they see a piece of paper on da floor..will end up..

Why don't you buy a tray size of 3 x 4 feet and put the new paper on it. It will be much more easy for you to clean the tray than mopping the floor.

I think I can imagine your set up. I had a non-slip mat too but then I decided not to use it because its quite troublesome. It's heavy, the pee goes through and soak the newspaper. It smells later on so I decided to use the non-slip mat as a platform for him to stand properly while showering, so he does not slip and fall.

Casper wont eat his poo. He pees and poos on the papers. Poo never miss but pee sometimes he will miss. He still havent take up one leg to pee, squat and pee even though he is a male. 7 months old.

Yes, if pee on newspaper, quite easy kena leg but my play pen is fixed to the cage. My setup is [Cage]==| . I put 4 pieces of play pen, two on each side. This way, my house dog is like a runway. I place the newspaper furthest away from his cage. So its [cage][play place][newspaper].


Yea, it is quite thick. 20 pieces is quite thick correct, its better to let the dog use than to sell off to the old-newspaper-man.

I think you should train your dog not to bite paper. My dog used to do that, damn teruk some more. When I bought the wee wee pads from White Palace. I put 4 pieces in the evening and overnight, all become cotton flying around the house cause he rip it to shreds. Thats why I decided to use newspaper, cheaper and thicker, harder to bite.

I think you just need to find more things to put into the cage so he does not bite. Else, use the newspaper to scare him. Then he wont pee on newspaper, right? After that, place the newspaper on the ground, over the span of 3 - 5 days, always lure him to the newspaper with treats. As long as he step on the newspaper, just treat him. This way my dog stopped biting the papers already.

sked my housemates don like cos if poo pee on da papers sure got smell..

y dogs like to lick or eat their own poo.. spray cleaner isit those buy frm supermarket, like easy off bang? lol.. or those housebreaking aid? so tat the dog wont go back to the wrong place to poo again.

From what I read, some dogs didnt digest their food properly, so what go in will come out and when come out, still got food smell, so go in a second time.

If keep go in and out non stop, then you only need to feed your dog once a month! hehe... Housebreaking aid never works. You are better off without them but some ppl do claim it works. So far, I tried 2, never worked even a bit.

I didnt train him to squat, he memang pee like that since day 1 he was brought home.

others like fish oil supplement and vitamin, treats, carrier box, colar, harness, leash, extra toys, anti-tangle spray,talcum for pets,tear stain remover,wee wee pad,........u see see loh.
Buy the basic one, then i can confirm from the day on, u'll be visiting petshop during weekends(since u r working rite?), and mostly u'll bring back 1 or 2 things for the puppy.

supplements r like..erm supplements..u add on to their nutrition they get from da kibbles. depends on wat u wanna giv..u can choose from brewers's yeast to fish oil and flex seed oils..or u can giv them natural treats, like apples, carrot sticks, or even cottage cheese.

1. biocare is wat i spray da floor n clean it up whenever there r poop stains.. its safe, no nit 2 sked dat my pup will go lick da floor n vomit. had bad experience using dettol, den jack jack went n lick, n vomit white buih. buying those house breaking aids r a bit too costy, cos i'll use up 1 bottle of 700ml every 5weeks.

2. wat joanna said was very very enuf. those r da basic items u hv 2 get for a pup.
cos ur getting poodle or maltese, u hv 2 comb their fur everyday, hence u'll need a comb.

haha i list it out all wat joana said..da most basic things u muz hv when u get ur pup!

grooming:
shampoo , conditioner , comb , nail clipper , cotton buds , ear cleaner , tick control , anti tangle.

place 2 stay:

fish oil pour a lil into da kibbles..
erm giv a lil treats 2 teach them is okay lor..jus don giv too much till they refuse 2 eat kibbles..
any cleaner will do de..jus to clean da floor wat..but better choose those more organic type. but da ending will b da same if ur pup accidentally drank it..haha..
cotton buds i'm using human ones, cos specially for pets type r very very expensive..i recall da price of rm16.90 for 80buds..

don run outta food..when ur about 2 run outta food, n u cant find orijen, den u buy something 2 mix wif it. or elz sked ur pup wont get use 2 da new kibbles.
