It's always good to make a backup/ghost an image before proceeding with all these. In the event of mishap, you can easily restore smile.gif

I just installed VTP 8.0.1 and pretty good I'd say. It's not very buggy and I've changed the sidebar to Samurize.

Actually its quite true. The new VTP 8.0 is "quite" safe because now you have better control over what you install. They let you choose one by one. But anyway I will be making a new cleaned up thread during my holidays in January so you guys be patient ya. I found some really cool apps that I havent updated in the 1st post yet blush.gif

I've been using the latest VTP and I can say it's great. I manually updated some of the apps like ViStart, etc and so far very stable, not causing me much issues except boot up is slow sad.gif

I need to do ghost my freshly installed Windows and do it again to see if it helps.

hmm.. do you set the setting in the weather widget? i think most of the weather widget may need you to specify the location of which you want to know about the weather.

Btw, the current VTP 8.0.1 doesn't patch uxtheme.dll if you updated to WinXP SP3.

i've installed VTP before bumping into this thread...
What a great thread it is!!!
i thought VTP is great enough, but there are lots more things that could be better than only installing VTP...

tqvm to J-Slade..
i also recommend this thread to be pinned!...

You've got the latest build for ViStart right? Actually ViStart is one of the best I've seen

The other alternative is Vista Start Emulator (VSE) but I haven't tried the latest version.

Added on December 21, 2007, 2:20 pmGuys. I know this thread is starting to slow down... but after this I want to make a new updated thread with all the files uploaded on Rapidshare then I can collect points and every month (hopefully) I will collect enough points and give away a free rapidshare premium account to the Best Vista Emulation on XP to LYN forumers. We can have like a monthly contest where you guys can post your screenshots.... apa macam? YOu think it is a good idea?
