Be patient. According to Broadband Improvement Plan announced in Oct16, TM will offer new Streamyx packages (Unifi Lite?) in June 2017. Gradually TM will install VDSL (FTTC/FTTN/FTTB) or offer Webe (or Fixed Wireless in the future) to replace ADSL for most of Streamyx customers. At the end, TM will retire ADSL or Streamyx services. It is just a matter of time.

10+ more years till streamyx completely disappear from msia..

In the next few years, you will see TM will first discontinue new sign-up for Streamyx service, then discontinue 512k/1M/2M/4M/8MBps to existing customers, replaced by Unifi Pro, Unifi Advance, Unifi Lite, and Unifi Wireless. It had happened or it is happening in Singapore, UK, Australia etc.

Anyway, I salute your optimistic and positivity attitute towards tm here!

staff tmnet ? trolling here , i don't think they will terminate streamyz till year 2020 also.. now 2017.. and the competition not peak .If hssb and telekom not ex-gov then i will trust will quick.. but now.. 2025 also i think streamyz will existed

i like to compare rm129 & rm149 in terms of the bundle.

Just came from TM Point Seremban (market).

CS says Unifi Lite only for places without Unifi.
If your taman already have Unifi then it's the regular VIP 20 & 50 for you.

Some more - Voice 20 is optional as in RM149 + RM20 = RM169

Seriously, TM need to relook their training programmes.
I swear the agents know more than the official channels.

Believe me..., even after 2025, streamyx 1mbps will still exist with the monthly price of RM110/month. I don't see any sign of price reduction for 1 and 2 mbps package for the time being. Their strong point for high price of streamyx combo will be FREE CALL TO TM FIXED LINE NATIONWIDE and FREE TM WIFI yada yada yada! I've been complaining about SUBB around my area to MCMC and even after two weeks, they still don't give any feedback to my complaint.

got but contract 2 years 68 i think..
FREE TMPOINT .. yada yada....... useless 600 kbps and more slower.. same as YADA YADA celcom wifi hotspot.. sometimess share with tmnut.

When Unifi (incl Lite) is almost same price or cheaper than Streamyx 1mbps, the customers will give up Streamyx. It may happen in 2019.

Seriously i dont think tm will lower streamyx price, that will hurt unifi sales. what they gonna do is the opposite, make unifi cheaper and hurt streamyx.

Can I tell them my current cabinet number that I'm currently connected to and let them check in their system? cuz I went several time to TM point already ask them to check, they say will send someone to survey and let me know the feedback...until now no one call me...

What the CS told you is not true, why? Because my area has Unifi and Streamyx. I was offered numerous times to upgrade to Unifi 30Mbps but I rejected the offer till April 21st when a Unifi promoter came to my house.

Well, I've successfully upgraded from Streamyx 8Mbps to Unifi Lite 10Mbps @ RM129/month (without voice).

Here's the story:

1. April 21st, I was outside cleaning my house in the evening when a TM/Unifi promoter came and ask if I was interested to upgrade to Unifi Lite. I was suprised for a moment because I knew Unifi Lite hasn't officially launch yet. Regardless, I straight told him I'm interested and did the registration on the spot. The agent had the my card reader and his gadget to do the registration.

2. Same day I got confirmation email regarding the application and in the email it stated that installation will be on the 30th of April.

3. 27th April, I got a call from TM confirming the installation on the 30th.

4. 30th, installer came to fix the fibre cable and set everything up. Immediately my Unifi Lite was connected and I'm using it now.


So far, DL speed is around 9.5Mbps, UL speed is 5.5Mbps, latency is 7-9ms.

I'm in S2 by the way. The agent brought the Unifi Lite brochure with him but I didn't managed to take a pic of the brochure as my phone was inside my house.

He had a list of places where Unifi Lite is offered.

FYI:

1. Unifi Lite is offered to places which already has fibre (Like in my case), but not all places have Unifi Lite.
2. Unifi Lite is also offered in certain places where there's no Unifi coverage. They are using copper via VDSL. The installer shared with me he just did an installation of Unifi Lite using copper before he came to my house.
