Kirin 960 is quite good. A73 vs modified A72. A73 is exactly what's inside snapdragon 835 and exynos 8895. The only downside is the gpu shader core is only 8. Although it's running newer G71, it's a bit slower than S7e exynos 8890 with 12 shader cores T880. The thing about A73 is sustained performance vs peak performance with A72.
S8 is a different beast with either 835 or 8895. It's built on 10nm which will guarantee 30% faster than A72, compared to Kirin 960 which is on 16nm, which is limiting the gain between 10-15%.
Kirin 960 is just a bit faster than Oxynos 8890 but much more expensive (P10 plus vs S7E).

The price drop makes S7 and S7 Edge very good value proposition. You no longer need to buy Oneplus 3T or Huawei type of phones to save money.
P10 to me looks pretty much like P9. After 1 year they didn't improve anything on the design and bezels look huge for 2017 phone. I totally skip this phone, in fact I like the P9 better.
This year any screen that doesn't look like S8 and G6 will look out of date.
Although Huawei P10 is a decent phone, I still think it's too expensive. Should not be 2499.
If irenic's leaked price is true, then P10 Plus is not appealing at all.
However mainstream people may differ. A few people asked me regarding what phone to buy, I can say most people want to avoid the Samsung edge display. They are scared of breaking it...So it may backfire. And the Leica brand marketing strategy is really effective. Everyone is talking about it.
