QUOTE(benny888 @ Apr 5 2017, 06:52 AM) Battery life comparison of S8+ w S7e, Pixel, ip7+ Looks good however just read with some salt. All of us use our phone differently Looks like the 10nm chip does make a difference http://www.redmondpie.com/galaxy-s8-vs-iph...ife-comparison/8 hours? thats good I hope someone do S8 battery life test so that I can decide between S8 or S8+

QUOTE(Vape On @ Apr 5 2017, 06:46 AM) S8+ if add in a casing. Will that be too big? It might be.. but because of the slim profile you wouldn't feel the phone big.. it just only a bit long.

QUOTE(davidletterboyz @ Apr 5 2017, 12:37 AM) Is there any app that consumes so much resource for a sustained period other than gaming? In that case why pick a weaker GPU in the first place? Weaker? I think that's what the benchmark shows. Since P10 had FHD, I don't think it matters too much. Besides the most important thing is that the sustained performance of A73 will give more room to its GPU to not hit thermal throttle when compared to A72.

QUOTE(Vape On @ Apr 5 2017, 06:46 AM) S8+ if add in a casing. Will that be too big? I don't think so. The length is only slightly longer than ip7+. I am so used to big display phones and the S8+ is just a close to nice size. However it's narrower width gives an impression is longer. Honestly I prefer it to be wider However so many YouTube comparisons had shown the S8+ isn't that big vs visualize solely alone. This post has been edited by benny888: Apr 5 2017, 07:43 AM

QUOTE(jerryhean @ Apr 5 2017, 07:56 AM) Wow, that's surprising... I was anticipating for the battery to equal the performance of the S7 Edge or to be slightly below given the smaller capacity and bigger display. Good job to Samsung!

QUOTE(andrekua2 @ Apr 5 2017, 12:32 AM) You don't get it at all. Even S7e slows down when overheat. Kirin 960 had A73 which is what Snapdragon 835 and Exynos 8895 has. It's all about sustained performance. If you only do benchmark and not gaming, then you won't know what it's all about. You want higher peak performance or higher sustained performance over a longer period of time. Look beyond the process node. It's the same architecture inside 960 and 8895. Yes, it's will be slightly faster due to it being on 10nm but Huawei planning the same on 970. Means huawei is on par? With s7e or s8?

All of us use our phone differently Looks like the 10nm chip does make a difference http://www.redmondpie.com/galaxy-s8-vs-iph...ife-comparison/i'd think better to compare s8 with s7e... coz screensize abt the same. s8+ battery is 3500mAh and gets you 8hrs. s7edge battery is same sized, and gets you abt 7+hours. and based on s8+ battery size, that means s8 will give abt 6.5 hours of battery life on the same test. update1: ok, i guess it could be up to 7 hours... since i forgot that s8+ has got a bigger screen. so, it'll naturally consume more battery. QUOTE(Vape On @ Apr 5 2017, 08:24 AM) Means huawei is on par? With s7e or s8? Coming from a Mate 8, I would say that the performance is not too inferior to the S7 Edge in real life usage unless you're into heavy gaming, although the benchmark scores are vastly different. However the difference in camera quality is night and day. Also, EMUI is not for everyone.

QUOTE(Wind82 @ Apr 5 2017, 09:09 AM) Still no news on pricing? Just less than a week now! if you read a few pages back... already got indicative pricing and fellow member irenic said usually Samsung will only finalise price like 2-3 days before pre-order... so...

Either they go lower than indicative price by irenic. Or they gave discount like 20% at least.
With higher price, last minute thumbprint sensor placement, smaller battery and note 8 incoming, also the battery incident. I say many would hold out.

QUOTE(Max2006 @ Apr 4 2017, 07:34 PM) Ya, I am awared of it. But still, deep down in my heart I still hope Samsung will be generous to the Malaysia market... Anyway, I guess this is the biggest jump ever in history? S7 (2699) - S8 (3299) s7 Edge (3099) - S8+ (3599) RM600 & RM500 differences respectively. but frankly speaking... how big is Malaysia market really to them.... easily Thailand, Indon and Vietnam have more potential buyers than us... hahaha....

QUOTE(davidletterboyz @ Apr 5 2017, 12:04 AM) Kirin 960 is just a bit faster than Oxynos 8890 but much more expensive (P10 plus vs S7E). Although Huawei P10 is a decent phone, I still think it's too expensive. Should not be 2499. but kirin 960 already in mate 9 which already selling the same or even lower price than S7E.... so i think the problem here is that p10 didn't go for newer processor... or they have too early launch their new processor before year 2017..... all the difference seems eliminated after they launched the mate 9

QUOTE(Velocity @ Apr 5 2017, 08:29 AM) He trying to say hua wei high end processor is as par as s7e or latest phone Im replying to the one who said S7e is a better buy. Honestly there is little to choose between them even when compared to S8 because its the same architecture. The S8 will be faster by at least 20% due to 10nm process node. The GPU could end up a lot faster since it has 20 shader cores compared to 8 shader cores on 960.
