Just want to share my experience on RE003 after using this tire for 2 weeks.

Dry condition:
Lots of grip. Can whack corners at high speed with confidence (tire didn't event scream)... No complain on this department

Wet condition:
Sadly.... it performed below my expectation. Was driving on highway couple of days ago and it started to rain (not heavy). I can feel the front wheel starts to aquaplane around 130-140kph. With this, I've also lost confidence when braking under wet condition.

Tire noise:
Same like RE002.... still noisy but I can bare with it (just pump up the car's player volume and problem solved) tongue.gif

Tire wears:
Cant comment much as I've just used the tire for 2 weeks only. Plus I didn't put high hope on it. What do you expect from a 200 rating on the tire wears?

Conclusion:
This is very subjective... It depends on car, tire spec, road condition & driving style. I've used/tried PS3, RE002 & AS2 before switching to RE003. On dry performance, I wont say which one performed the best as I find them all equally good. But when it comes to wet conditions, personally I find AS2 performed the best. Driving 150kph in heavy rain, no issue. It cut through water like hot knife through butter tongue.gif Even after putting 15k into it, it still feels good in the rain. Among the 4 tires that I've used, I placed RE003 last when it comes to wet performance. RE002 performed way better in the wet condition compared to RE003.

So for me, overall this tire doesn't fulfill my requirement/expectation. I know some people might disagreed with my views but like I said earlier.... it depends on car, tire spec, road condition & individual driving style.
Car: CL7-R
Tire spec: 225/45/17

Side note:
My original plan was to get the all new AS3 but sadly Goodyears Malaysia is taking its own sweet time bringing in that tire into Malaysia despite the tire is already out since Feb 2016. Because of this, I was forced to change to RE003 because my previous AS2 has becomes slick tires tongue.gif

Good luck with your tire hunting.....

Ecopia is econo level tire, while RE003 is high performance level so not comparable. Which one you want, just a tire to drive from a to b which gives the most durability and fuel economy but less grip, or a tire that gives you the better grip and handling which adds more safety factor due to it's high performance capability but at the expense of durability & fuel economy?

Continental CSC5 is very good too, maybe even better than PS3.
Yokohama never use before though, maybe next time will consider.
I'm no sifu btw...

Go inflate your tyres at the nearest petrol station first thing in the morning. Don't over inflate bro. You will have premature tyre wear - Stock tyres are 215/45/R17 Michelin PS2 - changed to Michelin PS3 in 2013 iinm. What happened to your tyre inflation sticker on your car bro? No longer there on the driver side?

See if a tire has better performance and grip, that means it can maneuver better/sharper during emergency and can also stop faster, therefore you have a better chance of avoiding accidents hence better safety. That's why I always advice people to buy the best performance tire they can afford and not to skimp on just any tires because they are cheaper. Most people don't realize this and only say "ah I don't drive fast la, I don't need good expensive performance tire la, I just want tires that last very long bla bla bla..." Well tire is the ONLY contact patch that connects your car to the road so it is a critical part of the your car safety! A car can have all the safety features you want like VSC/ESP/TRC/ABS/auto brake etc2 but if you put shitty tires then it will significantly negate the safety so it's illogical.

Im thinking of re003, but in wet condition, this tyre doesnt perform that well right? Any other recommendation in terms of overall performance?

It should not be too bad though, got many already use and the reviews I heard so far it's still decent in the wet. Maybe not as good as PS3, CSC5, or F1 but still pretty good. Maybe try Hankook V12 Evo2, that one seems good value for money, should be even cheaper but also similar high performance category tire.

You totally spoke my mind.... A year ago, I told the same thing to a friend of mine when I advised him not to get cheap China brand tyre for his car and he didn't listen to my advice and changed to the cheap China brand tyre which cost around rm250-rm300 each (for 17'). One fine day, as he driving downhill heading to an intersection, he tapped on the brakes to slow down the car.... not sure what happened but somehow the wheels locked up and the car skidded and ran into a ditch. The car was wreck but luckily, no one was hurt (btw, wife & kids were in the car). ==True story==

That's why I totally agreed with you... when it comes to tyres.... don't be stingy. Think of safety first.... especially for your love one inside your car.

Coming back to you.... Set your priorities first. What is important, what are you seeking for & how much are you willing spend on the tyres.... If you have the money, you can go all the way up to Pirelli P Zero if you want to tongue.gif But if your budget is limited, then I would advised you to get best whatever that you can afford.

Don't let my review on the RE003 to stop you getting that tyre. As I've mentioned in my review.... Different people driving different car with different tyre has different reviews. And sadly.... RE003 doesn't work for me but it doesn't mean it wont work for you too. Try checking out from other people whom drive the same car as yours and see what tyre works for them and decide from there. Take your time & research... don't rush into changing it (unless you have no choice like me tongue.gif)

My original plan was to get the AS3 because AS2 works very well on my car but sadly no one has it... so I decided to take a gamble on RE003 and sadly it doesn't goes well with my car sad.gif
