Guys...I copied this ACPP T&C from apple.com website. Any comments on item 7 (d)??


7. General Terms
a. Apple may subcontract or assign performance of its obligations to third parties but shall not
be relieved of its obligations to you in doing so.
b. Apple is not responsible for any failures or delays in performing under the Plan that are due
to events outside Apple's reasonable control.
c. You are not required to perform preventative maintenance on the Covered Equipment to
receive service under the Plan.
d. This Plan is offered and valid only in the fifty states of the United States of America, the
District of Columbia and Canada. This Plan is not offered to persons who have not reached the
age of majority. This Plan is not available where prohibited by law. rclxub.gif
e. In carrying out its obligations Apple may, at its discretion and solely for the purposes of
monitoring the quality of Apple's response, record part or all of the calls between you and
Apple.
f. You agree that any information or data disclosed to Apple under this Plan is not confidential
or proprietary to you. Furthermore, you agree that Apple may collect and process data on your
behalf when it provides service. This may include transferring your data to affiliated companies
or service providers located in countries where data protection laws may be less comprehensive
than your country of residence, including but not limited to Australia, Canada, countries of the

IANAL but... I understand it means that if your country or jurisdiction bars you from purchasing AppleCare, then its useless to you there la.

can anyone point me out to the place where you can check the remaining period of your warranty? have to key in the product serial no? tq...

on the right, there is a small box for u to enter your serial..

EDIT: it's no longer on the right.....
go to the bottom of the page, there is a box for u to enter your serial....

Apple should built this function into the OS. Have a reminder function on expiring warranty will be great wink.gif

too true...in case a person (i.e me) misplaced the receipt & can't remember the date of purchase...

anyways, after checking all my apple products, still have months to decide whether to purchase the acpp....

Great idea thumbup.gif You can do that with Leopard, by making the ACPP "About Your Support Coverage" part from the Apple Support website into a widget.

Try to do it 1-2 week before that date on 2007.
It takes some time to activate the ACPP.
And also you want some buffer in case it doesn't goes smoothly.

I'd say now will be a good time.... it doesn't matter when you're gonna buy, sonner or later, you're gonna spend some amount of money on that, might as well buy it now and get the peace of mind than to hold on to the last minute and shortens your life expenctancy a few years worrying.... tongue.gif

Yes yes, some ppl prefer to buy it together with their mac. Maybe they get a better deal that way. My advice is buy it when u have the $$$. It happen to me twice that I missed the ACCP purchase because I spend the $ on something else. But lucky all the apple product I've sold it or still working fine.

can i ask a question, i have a macbook pro with one GB now still under warranty, i'm planning to buy Apple Care Plan to extend the warranty but i also hope to add some ram to my macbook pro, is it allowed to do that? or i need to wait until over the period of warranty then i can add ram?
