Actually if we look at the price:

PS3 - 2150
XBOX360 - 1550
Wii - 1550

PS3 is just extra 600. What is 600 if you're getting Blueray disc, Cell processor, slot drive, memory card reader, SACD, etc?

And 600 is just 3 game worth of money. Unless you really like Xbox Live! or Wii's dna, PS2 fanboy will sure stick to PS3. And PS2 install base is huge. PS3 will still win.  rclxm9.gif

correction, xbox360 cheapest price that is selling now in sg wang cost around RM1300. blueray? who needs it?

i think the reason why ppl say blue-ray can do more is becoz it has a bigger capacity, bigger space is needed to create a very high graphic game, just like u save a picture, a sloppy picture using jpeg size is small, but a very good picture with high resolution have bigger size, same like games, so big capacity can put in great graphic while still have rooms for the game.

correct me if im wrong, coz im not an expert, this is based on my logic only

This is such a pointless discussion. People buy consoles because of the games.

At the moment, there are no games available on the PS3 that makes me want to go out and buy one, but as soon as there are a few, I will!

As it is, the other two consoles will do fine for now. smile.gif

I think we should buy now to anticipate more games. You'll get the most all the feature that is supposed to have. Read this:
http://theinquirer.net/default.aspx?article=38117

If you buy later, all the PS3 will have software emulation of PS2 game instead of hardware support.

So current price with best hardware PS2 support definitely make PS3 a current good buy! And its not much more expensive than Xbox360 or Nintendo Wii compare to wat you gonna get.

I m only know why PS3 is so expensive bcoz of the blueray, not bcoz it can reverse playback the ps2 game in ps3, its sound stupid to giving a reason by that why i wanna get mine a ps3.

Hmmm....did u intend to say that PS3 has a legitimate local support in Malaysia ... this can only happens only when it is officially launched in Malaysia...

And higher production cost too.....and it is not too surprise at all that most of the game developer company r going for multi platform options...

And by the way, not everyone can afford to buy the original copies of blueray movies .... the cheapest option that we have now is from amazon.com, and I do have few in my collection now..but, I can tell u it is pain in the ass to spend nearly RM100 for each disk just for something that I am going to watch twice (the most).... whistling.gif

PS3 is all about High Definition and mostly people with their 1080p TVs will fully appreaciates what PS3 can offer.

And HOME (Second Life Wannabe for PS3) really excites me.

So far, Playstation home is the only thing that makes me wana own a ps3. Till then, it's too expensive for me to buy another console. Xb360, PC & NDS can accompany me for now...

What kind of "support" do you need anyways? It's an online service, not a hardware service. If there's any problem, you can just email MS or call them up. I've done it already when I canceled my Live account, and they did it no problems even though I'm in Malaysia... smile.gif

IMO, if I were to buy a PS3, I'd get it to play PS3 games, not PS2 games. I don't really give a damn about backward compatibility.....it'd be a bonus, it won't affect my judgement to buy. And at the moment, there's no PS3 games that really attract me, so I'll wait for later when there's more good games and the PS3's price has dropped.

All that high def content (trailers, cinemas) shown is not possible with the current state of broadband in Malaysia.

I'm sure PS3 its going to have official support given Sony's presense in Malaysia is very good (Sony Style shops in Malaysia).

Right now PS3 is consider "grey" area until its official Asia launch (if that includes Malaysia). Same can be said about X360 support.

Support as in online service as well as hardware service.

Like to ask you about Xbox Live, you register account with Malaysian address?

See that is the problem.

I don't like the idea or registering my account with false address.

This is what I consider the Xbox Live support is "grey" area.
