EA boss just said the PS3 is just too exp. He might be right as a lot of ppl think that Sony is trying to put every form of entertaiment into the PS3 making it becoming an entertaiment hub while Nintendo concentrates on what they do best - games, thus making the console cheaper to make as it only plays games.

But that is subject to debate as each company has different long term plans so there's still time to see who will dominate the console market.

My concern is more on the game that will be on PS3 platform (like those JRPG game genre and so on), like previously, I buy Ps2 coz of the game I like. brows.gif

Currently for WII and XBOX/XBOX360 there is no games that interest me sweat.gif

Conclusion:

if you are looking for Technology = PS3 Wins (Cheap too!)

if you are looking for Games = Xbox360 Wins (PS3 Ain't Cheap for games)

if you are looking for something special rather than the same old gamepad = Wii Wins (PS3 no ground to stand)
*
lemme correct that for you

Conclusion:

if you are looking for Technology Trilogy = PS3 Wins (Cheap too!) No its not laugh.gif
if you are looking for Hardcore Games = Xbox360 Wins.
if you are looking for something special Nostalgic = Wii Wins

one thing that PS3 have big advantage over xbox360 is u get to play online free and together with friend also the new feature home for ps3 which is consider quite good and is free to download so if somehow microsoft give free online playing then i consider the ps3 dont worth the money until then ps3 still a good buy cos when ps3 start to gettting more game with online play option it can beat or match microsoft live service and then u will see more people buying ps3 than xbox360...just my 2 cents.. smile.gif

Now Xbox Live service > ps3 network...no doubt about it. Total ownage.

but...

If playstation home takes off and succeed in delivering what they promise and shown in GDC....

I have to admit, the competition gona be really stiff & i am a microsoft fanboy moderator. Playstation Home just seems soo....convincing...argh....

xbox live is a paid service if it not good who going to pay and ps3 just launch their console and network so give it a year and also the new feature home is out then we will judge which is a better system if somehow sony dont screw up then xbox live is gonna to have tough time facing the new sony home...if sony deliver what it does as advertise then price wise is enough better than the xbox360......

Bad thing about Xbox Live service is that they don't acknowledge subcribers in some country like Malaysia which places them in some sort of grey area.

Well, if you wanna count the cost of online gaming, then to be fair you also need to count the cost of a suitable TV for each console.....a 1080p TV for a PS3 will set you back another few thousand at least.... I mean c'mon, you're not gonna spend RM2K+ for a PS3 and then play it on a 21" CRT TV now, would ya? tongue.gif

I'd say that overall, a good PS3 experience is still expensive for the average Malaysian. Those people who do have a PS3, already have enough money to get the hardware to support it, so expensive or not, it's not really an issue.

You can get away with a good X360 experience for much cheaper, thanks to the VGA cable and relatively cheap widescreen LCD monitors available nowadays. The extra US$50 for Live is really nothing compared to splashing out for a 1080p TV smile.gif

What grey area?? Most people here are happily playing on Live with no problems. Yes, they do acknowledge Malaysia as a Live country although it is not officially supported. We have our own Xbox Live ambassador here smile.gif

actually i think XBoxlive is expensive..
here is why..
i am a busy person.. due to my schedule..
sometimes i am free for a whole week.. sometimes i am not free for a month straight..
and i probably get <10-15 hours of time playing game a week, and i have single player games to play too, not to mention i am also a multiconsole owner..
that is y i think it is expensive..
and dont forget we are paying for original games.. i juz dont get it, charging ppl again.. IMO, not everyone is really that free to game when they have other things which is more important to do in the life.. school days are over.. and hey, PC games online has been around long before xboxlive services.. and most of them require u to purchase the original game only.. no need monthly payment also, we are already paying for internet bills (other than MMORPG)

xboxlive gold is relatively affordable for a working adult gamer, but a job means very little spare time for gaming

xboxlive gold is relatively expensive for a student gamer, most student has more spare time to game

solution? : share a xboxlive GOLD gamertag (just dont go online simulatenously tongue.gif tongue.gif)

That's the biggest issue that comes to mind.

All that high def content (trailers, cinemas) shown is not possible with the current state of broadband in Malaysia.

This is what I meant by "grey area". No legitimate local support.
