QUOTE(Zyntherius @ May 10 2007, 02:12 PM) if your car OBD compliant for sure you can display all the info on screen using your carpc. The device (interface unit) can be found here -> http://www.vitalengineering.co.uk/support.htm. If you want to replace original meter altogether, Win XP definitely not the suitable OS. You need a dedicated device for example embedded system running RTOS. |

QUOTE(Liuteva @ Jun 16 2007, 08:09 PM) Sorry for the late reply...been going out stations....well less the 1kAdded on June 18, 2007, 9:17 pm QUOTE(lohwenli @ Jun 16 2007, 07:52 PM) Like mentioned before, he's using a laptop HDD. Laptop HDDs spin slower, and are less vulnerable to car goyang. Also, don't be stupid la and put important data on it, most also you'll put songs and movies only right? Yeap... i use laptop hdd..more durable than the desktop ones......This post has been edited by Zyntherius: Jun 18 2007, 09:17 PM |

i have a question, how do you install softwares or updates? since i noticed you don't have ad cd drives. do you install all in the external hard disk previously before installing into the car or you plug in temporary a cd drive.
p.s suggestion, you can try placing a rheostat so that when the com shutsdown, so will the inverter This post has been edited by Vervain: Jun 19 2007, 10:57 AM |

Hmm, didn't know you put wifi on your car PC..cool idea. Can just park outside starbucks and go online.
Btw, just realised something-even if thieves detect your PC from the wifi signals or the wireless mouse signals, when they break into your car they won't know what to look out for..and it would be a lot of trouble trying to dismantle that PC to take it away. Not to mention that is not worth much anymore..probably not even RM500. |
