I've seen younger-than-18 able to enter the halls here in KLCC for this movies. Just simply sneak in when the counter states you can enter with other movies that are rated U.
Phewww, just came back for second helping of 300, weird how the audience are more reactive at a midnight show than the ones earlier. Had them hooting, cheering and even clapping when » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « , and also a couple of scattered applause when the movie ended. When the lights are on, then i know why....those clapping are a group of young Americans whom earlier visited and ohh-ahh at the screen when they came over to see Motorstorm running in Mediaplex...very talkative bunch...There i go, talked too much again! Mind the spoilers if you have not watched the movie, you have been warned. More Spartan action today(Friday) with different set of friends, they are Frank Miller fans. Gonna gather up in Kinokuniya KLCC for a refresher of "300" on hardcover comic book version if they have any, before heading to the cinema hall. This is Sparta! |

Wah stringfellow....how many times u wanna rewatch this show la?
OT: I dunno why but everytime i masok cinema, the guy behind sure kick my chair one. Dunno why...damn tulan. But during 300 not so bad. The guy adjust his legs rarely so kena kick about 4-5 times only during movie. Some movies ar....diuu.....ppl can shake leg and kick your back for the whole movie one. Sometimes i tell them off but they still do it. Maybe use vibrator too much or something. Sigh. |

WolfX , movie buff here. Can watch multiple times and still see something new in the film. Are you familiar with Moviemistakes.com?
Great movie outing as well with the gang today, me being a Frank Miller newbie, of course get bombarded by trivias and tidbits of infos from the gang when i watch with these diehard FM fans. First they would mention would be, "Spartans in "300" the comic rendition are naked, save for their capes". Imagine THAT on the movie version, and you'll never see "300" arriving at our shores. The offer to organize still remains, im genuinely offering my service to do so if anyone's interested. Mediaplex apparently had connections with TGV KLCC, and if you notice the seats from Cinema 1 and Cinema 2, you will know why. They were the supplier of the cinema seats for the newly renovated seats in these halls, as well as the sole distributors of the longthrow projectors in all the halls in TGV KLCC. These projectors are 720p by specifications, with of cource mad-crazy lumens compared to home projectors. The TGV administrations even provide added privileges such as free movie tickets for Mediaplex staff to cultivate and keep their interest in the movie business . Hence how i could secure large number of tickets early with good positions in the cinema halls for groups yesterday and today, thanks to Mediaplex. So again, i reiterate, if anyone wants bulk numbers for official or to represent a large number of specific groups (no "gatherings for my family, or my close friends kinda type, please), i can try my best to arrange so. We should consider how lucky we are, for the fact that even the Americans have yet to see this movie and we already have seen Day 3 screening of this great movie. *Today, Friday 9th in the US/10th in our country, is the US screening day FYI.* The folks at Boxofficemojo.com have barely begun tracking the movie, only parting predictions on how much this movie would make with its "R" rating.

ARRGGHH!! In the hardbound copy of "300" owned by one of the attendee of the movie event yesterday, the Spartans are drawned with the same strokes as how Sin City looked like, with ....ermm, clearly outlined rendition of their private parts. Wikipedia shows what the Battle of Thermopylae looked like in all naked glory. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Jacques...s_David_004.jpg QUOTE(vivaldi @ Mar 10 2007, 11:07 PM) Still enjoyable, trust me. You will get the subtleties previously overwhelmed by the visuals onscreen like the narrating voice of Dilios, and you will get their names better. Ephialtes, Queen Gorgo, Theron, Stelios, Astinos, Thermopylae, Plataea, Arcadians. Leonidas's son is played by the director's son i believe, same surname. Did anyone notice the Spartans advance by rank, one row does the pushing and thrusting, then when more waves advances too close, the second rom comes forward and drop their shields to protect their previously exposed comrades? Very efficient. Also notice the "phalanx" formation they made during the second wave of the first battle, as well as the "turtle dome" during the last confrontation with Xerxes. So, Vivaldi, yes, watch it the third time. More trivias on the movie, the guys at Boxofficemojo.com forum has this dug up:- http://news.fantasymoguls.com/originalcont...ve_early_1.html QUOTE EXCLUSIVE EARLY 3-DAY ESTIMATES: '300' with $60 million; Spartan War Epic 3rd Biggest R-Rated Opening and 2nd Biggest March Opening; 'Hogs' Still Strong with $27.8 million Bear in mind, "300" is rated R in the States, so it is not meant to break boxoffice records like family-friendly and U-to-PG13 movies like Pirates of Carribean. And also "300" had just its first day opening yesterday.by Steve Mason March 10, 2007 The weekend belongs to Zack Snyder's 300 (Warner Bros), which is fulfilling the months of internet buzz, marketing hype and fanboy anticipation with a $25.5 million Friday and an estimated 3-day gross of $60 million. The bloody, violent, over-the-top, R-rated war picture adapted from Frank Miller's graphic novel got an early start with 12:01am screenings across the country including IMAX locations. My sources have indicated that 300 broke the midnight IMAX box office record set by last Summer's Superman Returns, another Warner Bros. release. 300 will almost certainly smash the opening weekend IMAX record of $5 million set by Superman Returns. Batman Begins, also from Warner Bros., is the 3rd best IMAX opening weekend with $3.1 million. If my numbers for this Spartan war epic hold, this will be the all-time 3rd best opening weekend for an R-rated movie: 1. The Matrix Reloaded - $91.7 million 2. Passion of the Christ - $83.8 million 3. 300 - $60 million 4. Hannibal - $58 million 5. 8 Mile - $51.2 million By Monday morning, 300 will also be the all-time 2nd best opening weekend for a March release trailing only Ice Age 2: The Meltdown: 1. Ice Age 2: The Meltdown - $68 million 2. 300 - $60 million 3. Ice Age - $46.3 million The poorly-reviewed Wild Hogs (Buena Vista) will take the #2 spot with $7.5 million on Friday. That should translate to a far better-than-expected 3-day of $27.8 million. Bridge To Terabithia (Buena Vista) added $1.7 million to kick-off the weekend and will have banked another $7.4 million by Monday morning good for 3rd. Ghost Rider (Sony) will finish 4th with an estimated $7 million after the Nicolas Cage vehicle picked up $1.9 million Friday. Meanwhile, David Fincher's Zodiac (Paramount) continues to disappoint with $1.9 million Friday and an estimated $6.6 million for the weekend, which is enough to round out the Top 5. EXCLUSIVE FANTASYMOGULS.COM EARLY FRIDAY ESTIMATES 1. 300 (Warner Bros) - $25.5 million 2. Wild Hogs (Buena Vista) - $ 7.5 million 3. Ghost Rider (Sony) - $2 million 4. Zodiac (Paramount) 1.9 5. Bridge To Terabithia (Buena Vista) - $1.7 6. Norbit (Paramount) - $1.3 million 7. Music & Lyrics (Warner Bros) - $1.2 million 8. The Number 23 (New Line) - $1.1 million 9. Black Snake Moan (Paramount Vantage) - $1 million 10. Breach (Universal) - $700,000 EXCLUSIVE FANTASYMOGULS.COM EARLY 3-DAY ESTIMATES 1. 300 (Warner Bros) - $60 million 2. Wild Hogs (Buena Vista) - $27.8 million 3. Bridge To Terabithia (Buena Vista) - $7.4 million 4. Ghost Rider (Sony) - $7 million 5. Zodiac (Paramount) - $6.6 million 6. At mine, had makciks clamping their mouths gasping and eyes bulging at every gory scenes. Or i might be mistaken, they might be gasping at how buff the Spartans are, and their eyes bulging at the err..."bulge".
