So is it still true that we should change to USD in Malaysia and then change to TWD in Taiwan airport?
*
er.that day i saw Tao Yuan airport do accept RM.. but banks and money changer in taipei do not accept. In fact. the exchange rates in the airport is cheaper..
before i go, my exchange rate was NT 100 = RM10.7, but the rates in airport was only RM10.2 to NT100

Eh Are you sure the RM rate at the airport so good? If RM10.2 this is much better than Bank Negara & market rate dy shocking.gif

Anyway the realtime rate now qouted by Bank of Taiwan: http://rate.bot.com.tw/Pages/Static/UIP003.en-US.htm

is 8.24 buy & 10.37n selling.. That's worst than Money changer in m'sia wor...You probably saw 10.2 selling kua? meaning they are selling NT$100 for RM10.2 at that time and buying your RM1 for NT$8.24? don't confuse hor biggrin.gif

But in Malaysia right now, Wawasan is buying back NT$100 for RM10.50 http://wawasanmoneychanger.com.my/exchangeRates.asp and if you say you got it for RM10.70 by converting back NT100 to RM10.70..That's very good rate & much better than Taoyuan airport also what..only offering to buy back NT$100 for 10.20.

If on the other hand, converting RM100 direct to N$ here @10.66 as per Today rate, you will be getting NT938. I fyou change your RM100 in Tauyuan, you will be getting only NT$824 minus NT$30 commission wor

A lot of hotels, where you can get a lower rate when you get a local to book for you.

Long time ago, I stayed in a decent hotel in Nei Hu area, it is only approx MYR 160 ~ MYR 170 a night.

Recently, I stayed in Ban Qiao area, the published price is NTD 2560 per night, but when our local partner went to pay for us, it is only NTD 1760 per night. After further negotiation, it became NTD 1560.

The nice thing about Taipei hotel is that, most of them have free Internet!

there are hundreds or thousands of nike/adidas shops in taipei alone..if u wan to buy sports shoe, u can go 高雄 新崛江商圈, it's near to MRT station, 中央公园站
if you are in taipei, u can go 西门町 to shop.
Onitzuka tiger is selling less than RM300 there :-D

for the longchamp bag, it is inside tao yuan international airport. near Zon D. my advice is, depart from ur hotel to airport earlier and line up to wait for the check in counter open, be the first to check in and go to those duty free shops to buy ur things...inside is HUGE!!!!!!!!!!! and since it's duty free, of caz the price are cheaper than msia.!! COACH GUCCI shops all available biggrin.gif
