From the top walk down without stopping, eating & buying probably 1/2 hr.. But gonna do that..For sure you will stop & window shopping..thus probably 2-3 hrs.

National Palace museum - I think about 4 storey high. But I don't find the artifacts really interesting. Mostly collections of all souvenirs & belongings of Beijing Forbidden City taken away by Taiwan govt after they ran away to Taiwan from Beijing

unless u wan to go Yeliu, i believe that take train to Ruifang is much better, from there the cab / bus ride is juz ard 10-15min to Jiufen.

Hi,

I'm going to Taiwan for 5d4n. I just got the tickets. Any suggestion for my itinerary during that period?
Since only two of us, we plan to stay in budget hotel. And we also plan to use more public transport instead of cab. Any recommendation for our hotel?

Arriving at Taipei: 25th March noon
Departing Taipei: 29th March noon

Thank you.

From the weather chart posted on 1st page,

Avg temp during Oct & Apr nothing diff ~ 24-27C. and both also not cold-lah..Almost similar to KL weather in Jan last mth , where the days we can't see sunlight for days..haha

Infact from the chart, Oct is drier compare wth Apr. BTW, Early winter mth (late Nov- Dec) is actually still mild..temp avg 18-22C.

Even their peak winter avg temp only 10C-15C..

If for me, I will go there during late Dec when Temp ~ 15C-18C. nice weather. not so cold

January - February are the coldest months. When i was in Taipei between 10 January 2011 - 14 January 2011, the temperature at night/morning was only 9°C. Afternoon wasn't any better either at around only 12°C. And the worst of all, it was so windy and it was raining for the whole 5 days during my trip. Guys do not like to carry an umbrella with them but you have no choice in Taipei during this period biggrin.gif
