Kingston 8GB DDR4-2666 X2 - 518
Gigabyte GT 1030 2GB DDR5 - 349
Crucial MX500 500GB M.2 SATA - 359
Coolermaster Elite 350W - 129
Armageddon Vulcon V1X - 79

Turn on your built-in GPU for additional display ports.

Been a long time since I build a PC, didnt know that an on board graphic chip can hold up to 3 monitors. So in this case, I can live with 3 monitors at the moment, any additional monitor can wait until future upgrade (with GC).
Now since I can save up on the GC cost, I intend to upgrade on other components.

Here's my questions:

Core i5-8400 - 799
Gigabyte B360M-D3H - 369 <- Any recommendation if I want to notch up a level? Or just stick with this? Oh, and I want to use micro ATX casing, and I want NVMe support as well
Kingston 8GB DDR4-2666 - 359 (Another 8gb stick can easily be upgraded next month, so no issue here)
Crucial MX500 500GB M.2 SATA - 359 <- Can change to NVMe SSD? Is Intel 760p reliable?
Coolermaster Elite 350W - 129
M1Z Micro ATX - 129 <- I want to use micro size casing

Acer ET271 27" - 608 X3 <- I need IPS panel with VESA mount, price from Lazada

1. You can go for mATX size mobo like Gigabyte H370M-D3H is at RM479
2. 8GB DDR4-2666 is RM259
3. Yes you can. Intel SSDs are reliability focused. Just a bit slower. Still faster than SATA based SSDs.
4. Thats up to you for the case. Micro-ATX mobo already recommended.

Lastly, you can also go for high grade power supply like Seasonic Focus Plus 550W from lelong. It improves build quality, voltage stability, clean power and more efficient. They are costly though.

Budget: RM1000-RM1500
Purpose: Downloads/ Movies, light video editing (travel GoPro videos)
Reason to upgrade:
• Mainly is due to my current laptop CPU is bottlenecking, can’t get ideal top speed from my UNIFI 800Mbps, and
• Second, my laptop was bought in 2013 (ASUS K46CB, I5 3337U, GT740M), might as well upgrade to a better affordable build
Hardware to be reuse: SanDisk SDSSDHII120G
Monitor: ACER G205H (currently connected with my ASUS laptop)
Games & Software: GoPro Studio, Lightroom (occasionally), PUBG (not a gamer, but this is game I would play if the new build allows)
Personal preferences: Nvidia Graphic Card and Intel Processor (i5)
p/s: Saw this online, I not sure is it a good build or slight overpriced, can I go lower for the specs as in from the link?

You might want to consider increasing budget to 3500 to get new rig. 1500 is not going to get you a decent set nowadays.

Try this spec

https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4698086

Can handle medium-high at 1080p. Depends on games.

Of course. But we can recommend suitable budget revisions for what they want.
Editing with rm1500 will be painfully slow. But it still do it.

1. Yes, 16GB. Double check with seller for the compatibility
2. I only recommend IPS monitors. Acer VG240Y at RM549 from Viewnet
3. Ryzen 5 2600X is better for gaming, Ryzen 7 1700 is better for heavy use.

Like that can consider i5-8400 also (unless really prefer Ryzen)

Why?

1. Slightly cheaper: i5-8400 (799) vs Ryzen 5 2600x (899)
2. In case of GPU problem, 8400 has integrated GPU for you to trouble shoot and hang on while waiting for RMA
3. Intel platform not tempting you to get more expensive RAM to perform better. Ryzen likes 3000-3200MHZ, Intel ok with 2400-2666MHz
4. Performance is comparable, so you are not missing out much
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ats6AYz6Z3I

For Rx580, I guess it is ok as you want to work with Freesync. But some say forget about Adaptive Sync and just go for better bang for buck, at which the GTX 1060 6GB (RM1099 for Galax at Viewnet) might save more, and you could even opt for GTX 1070 Ti (1899 at viewnet), as Vega 56/64 are still crazy priced.
