Hardware needed - Mobo, proc, ram, storage, gpu.
Monitor size - not sure, he'll plug into his 40" TV
Brand - prefer intel and nvidia, but other accepted if can reduce budget

Mid level for latest game? 2k budget might not cut it.

What you get for RM1900-2000:
Intel G5400 (290)
H310 motherboard (300)
8GB DDR4-2400 (260)
Sapphire RX 560 PULSE OC (660)
1TB HDD (175)
Cooler Master MWE 400W (139)
Cheap casing (80-130)

Recommended budget is RM 2500-2700
*i3-8100, GTX 1050Ti, better PSU

Getting budget to 3k can include an SSD too.

Lets see

AMD Ryzen 3 1300X - 399
MSI A320M-Pro VD - 249
Kingston 8GB DDR4-2666 X1 - 259
Sapphire RX570 Pulse ITX 4GB - 650
WD Blue or Seagate 1TB - 179
FSP Hexa+ 500W - 159
Tecware Nexus mATX case - 139

RM2034 total (Viewnet and C-Zone prices)

Ryzen 3 1300X > Pentium G5400
RX 570 > RX 560/GTX 1050 Ti

Optional:
AMD Ryzen 5 1400 (Similar to Core i7-4770) - 449

I would advise you to spend a bit more for B450 motherboard.

GPU Prices so much different???

Viewnet has the RX570 at RM999, which is why I proposed RX560. Didnt do comparison for all shops, though.

Yeah, got promo at C-Zone and lelong. RX 570 4GB pushes GTX 1050 Ti and RX 560 away.

But the 1300x and 1060 3Gb (kinda RX570 performance) doubtful can manage medium settings well

eg for PUBG: 45-75 (LOW), 30-55 (MED)

Those charts can only show relative performance, but might not reliably predict your combination.

Eg for average in Ultra 1080p
A. 8700k with 1080Ti will get you 110fps
B. 8700k with RX570 will get you 46fps
C. 1300x with 1080Ti will get you 81 fps

From A and B, estimating RX570 is approx 0.418 of 1080Ti performance
From A and C, estimating 1300x is approx 0.736 of 8700k performance

Assuming RAM and Motherboard etc factors are the same (usually not), then estimating 1300x with RX570 will have average FPS
=0.418 x 0.736 x 110 = 33.8fps (or 34 like you mentioned)

Due to factors such as TSR programs eg antivirus, realistically we might be seeing 25-40 fps(ultra), not really playable.

Going to low settings, we expected average of 0.736 x 96 = 70fps, which is kinda similar to the 45-75 fps (average around 65?) shown in the clip

We have not seen much of recent benchmarks from people with lower hardware specs, so we cant tell how much improvement in PUBG after the update. Hopefully 10%+ gain of FPS will push medium settings playable at 40-60fps. your mileage may vary.

It does not work that way. It depends on game and how much the CPU bottlenecking the graphic card. I'm sure 1300X will not bottleneck RX 570.

Pretty sure I read somewhere someone said significant performance boost for PUBG on recent patch.

One of the example:

In that same discussion, you get people complaining of DECREASED fps too.

QUOTE
I'm glad that people is getting higher performance. I've played one quick game before work and unfortunately to me my fps was worse than the last patch. I usually get 60~90 fps and I got 35~55. I'll try a few games later when I get home to be sure.

He was using GTX1060 and FX CPU though

QUOTE
Can confirm. FPS dropped around 10% for me.

Well, 1300x and GTX1050Ti at medium is about 50-65 FPS from this June clip
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngQZdCsQ3kg

Indeed, we can see that the 1300x is not really bottlenecking

Anyway, Pubg is not the only game that is commonly tested
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kHrku_94XJg

*Yes, RX570 is better than GTX1050Ti.

So... TS to decide if it is good enough.

Yup. We recommended the best he can get for a low budget rig. Its up to him now.

Add RM129 more can get RX 580 4GB

I'd suggest going the used route as you'd get far better performance parts. More bang for your buck

Well, if it's my rig, i don't mind used part. But my friend ask for a new one, so...
